Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Manager
Regarding: position upgrade for career growth
I hope you are doing well, actually I am writing this email to bring your attention towards my career goals. This company is joined by me 2 years ago and during this period I have learnt variety of things from managing administrative works to taking part in building development. Currently I hold a General License in property management and I have a knowledge about budget planning, building operations and ongoing projects. As this company taught me multiple things from a beginner to a experienced professional.
Since I became part of this company, I really like the work culture, seniors support and career development courses. Along with this, residents at my current workplace are mostly seniors and I really like to help them in multifarious tasks and those residents are inspiration for me because of their way of handling things independently.
I hope you will the consider my transition from administrator to the Assistant Property Manager.
Yours Sincerely

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task. You mentioned your learning experiences, explained the benefits of your move, and expressed your desire to stay with the company. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention the benefits of your move, you do not explicitly explain how the company would benefit from your transition to an Assistant Property Manager, focusing instead on your own career goals. To improve, ensure that each bullet point is fully expanded with clear, logical reasoning that directly addresses the prompt's requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter follows a logical structure, moving from the purpose of the email to your background and finally your request. Paragraphing is present, though the transition between the second and third paragraphs is slightly abrupt. You use some cohesive devices like 'Along with this' and 'Currently', but the flow is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that connects smoothly to the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'administrative works', 'budget planning', and 'multifarious'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'This company is joined by me' (passive voice error) and 'a experienced professional' (article error). While your meaning is generally clear, the vocabulary is somewhat basic and lacks the precision required for higher bands. Expanding your use of professional collocations and ensuring correct word forms will help improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
Your writing shows a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'I have a knowledge about' (unnecessary article), 'As this company taught me...' (sentence fragment), and 'I hope you will the consider' (word order error). Additionally, there are issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed correctly without missing auxiliary verbs or prepositions.
