Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, reaching only 86 words. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed. While you mention what you have learned, you fail to suggest how the company would benefit from your move, and you do not fully explain why you wish to stay with the company. The letter is incomplete and lacks the necessary development required for a formal request. To improve, you must expand on each bullet point with specific examples and ensure the letter reaches the required length to fully address the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter lacks a clear structure and appropriate paragraphing. There is no formal closing or sign-off, and the ideas are presented in a fragmented manner. Cohesive devices are largely absent, making the flow of information disjointed. To improve, you should use clear paragraph breaks for each bullet point and employ linking words such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition' to connect your ideas logically. A formal letter also requires a standard closing, such as 'Yours sincerely' or 'Yours faithfully'.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'learnt so many different skills' and 'first ever earning source' are informal and lack the precision expected in a professional letter. There are also errors in word choice, such as 'request you that i eagerly wants', which is grammatically and lexically awkward. To achieve a higher band, you should use more professional terminology related to career development and workplace skills, and ensure your word choices are appropriate for a formal business context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('i eagerly wants'), incorrect verb tenses ('I have been worked'), and punctuation errors. The sentence structures are simple and lack the complexity required for higher bands. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement, correct tense usage (e.g., 'I have been working'), and proofreading for minor slips. Expanding your range to include more complex sentence structures will also help improve your score.
