Dear Sir/Madame

I hope this letter meets you well. i am writing to appreciate you of the opportunity given to me to work in this prestigious orgvanization and i would also like to use this medium to inform you that i would like to be transfered to the ict department of the firm.

It has been a wonderful time and experience in this my present position as a receptionist. I have learnt alot in my 2years period in this position, including how to communicate better with clients, basic etiquates and manners required of a receptionist, to time management, organisation, mult-tasking and improving in my problem solving skill.

I believe the company will benefit alot from me as i have underwent training and certification course on digital marketing, graphics design and ai automation within these past years. With this training, i can use the social space to bring more customers from around the world to this organisation, by constantly using the socials to promote the organisation goods and service rendered.

I would love to continue my practice here as these organisation believed in me and gave me the podium to become better and i believe i could return same favour by contributig to its growth through my new acquired skill.

I look forward to having a formal interview where i would discuss more on this and be considered for the position.

Thanks

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The candidate successfully covers all bullet points required by the task prompt. First, they outline what has been learned in their present job as a receptionist, mentioning communication, time management, and multi-tasking. Second, they suggest how the company would benefit from moving them to the ICT department, highlighting their additional training in digital marketing, graphics design, and AI automation. Third, they explain why they do not wish to leave the company, expressing loyalty because the organisation provided them with a platform to grow. The tone is appropriate for a workplace request letter, although the opening salutation "Dear Sir/Madame" is slightly generic. Overall, the ideas are well-developed and fulfil the task requirements effectively, earning a solid band score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is logically organised with a clear beginning, middle, and end. Paragraphs are used appropriately to separate different points, such as past learning, company benefits, and reasons for staying. Cohesive devices are employed to connect ideas, as seen with transition phrases like "It has been a wonderful time", "I believe the company will benefit", and "I would love to continue". However, some minor mechanical errors in cohesion and referencing appear, such as the pronoun shift in "these organisation believed in me" where the demonstrative pronoun does not match the singular noun. Paragraphing is adequate, but overall progression could be slightly smoother to reach higher band thresholds. The structure remains easy to follow throughout.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range suitable for a general workplace correspondence. Words like "prestigious organization", "receptionist", "certifications", and "digital marketing" show topic-related fluency. However, there are noticeable spelling and lexical slips, such as "orgvanization", "transfered", "alot", "etiquates", and "mult-tasking". Furthermore, phrasing like "appreciate you of the opportunity" is non-standard and incorrect collocation. While the writer attempts less common vocabulary such as "podium" and "automation", inaccuracies in word choice and spelling prevent the score from reaching a higher level. Communication is never impeded, but precision is lacking in places.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as conditional and relative clauses ("I can use the social space to bring more customers... by constantly using the socials"). However, there are frequent grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the text. Notable issues include lower-case "i" used for the personal pronoun, punctuation flaws like "Your's faithfully", and tense inconsistencies or awkward prepositional choices such as "have underwent training". Although complex structures are attempted and ideas are clearly conveyed, the accumulation of grammatical lapses and capitalization errors keeps the performance within the Band 6 category.
