Dear ....................................,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Manager,
I am writing to request to move into a diffferent department, because I am intrested to gain expreience in the supply chain managment and it would be very helpful if I could get a chance into the supply chain managment as an associate position.
As of now I am in the store associate position and it is really good job position and I learned a lot while doing this job. For example, I am helping customers and managing the stock on the floor with the backroom stock requirement.
If I could work for the Supply chain management then it would be very helpful for me and company as well. Addition to that, I have recently completed my Bachlor of Supply chain managment from SAIT and I would like serve my experience in the same field and I can manage the stock according to the company policy.
While working with the company I am very happy and I am very comfortable to get tranfer into the different deparment rather than leaving the company, because I am very familier with company's enviroment.
Your regards,
Jay Pandit

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response successfully covers all the bullet points outlined in the prompt. You state what you have learned in your present job ('helping customers and managing the stock on the floor'), suggest how the company would benefit from moving you ('I can manage the stock according to the company policy'), and explain why you do not wish to leave the company ('because I am very familier with company's enviroment'). The ideas are relevant and directly address the requirements of the task. However, some of the ideas are slightly repetitive and under-developed, particularly regarding the specific benefits to the company. This places the response solidly at Band 6.0 according to the task achievement criteria.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter maintains a clear overall arrangement with a standard greeting and sign-off. Paragraphing is used to separate different points, such as current experience, future benefits, and reasons for staying. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. For instance, transitional phrases like 'Addition to that' are awkward, and referencing in sentences such as 'If I could work for the Supply chain management then it would be very helpful for me and company as well' lacks smooth flow. While the progression of ideas is generally logical, the mechanical transitions limit the score to Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'associate position', 'supply chain management', and 'company policy'. However, there are several noticeable spelling errors and word-choice inaccuracies throughout the text, such as 'diffferent' instead of 'different', 'intrested' instead of 'interested', 'expreience' instead of 'experience', 'Bachlor' instead of 'Bachelor', 'tranfer' instead of 'transfer', and 'familier' instead of 'familiar'. Although these errors do not severely impede communication, their frequency prevents the response from achieving a higher band, resulting in a score of 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The letter includes a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some attempt at subordination and conditionals (e.g., 'If I could work for... then it would be...'). However, there are frequent grammatical and punctuation errors, such as run-on sentences ('I am writing to request to move into a diffferent department, because I am intrested...'), missing articles ('an associate position' instead of 'as an associate', 'the company' instead of 'company'), and preposition issues. While the meaning remains mostly clear to the reader, the density of basic structural and mechanical slips justifies a band score of 5.5.
