Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The candidate has successfully addressed all three bullet points required in the prompt. You mentioned what you have learned in your present job, specifically stating that you work in the inbound department and have learned how the warehouse functions regarding receiving and shipping. Furthermore, you suggested how the company would benefit from moving you, noting that your familiarity with systems and your capability for multitasking would be advantageous for personal and professional growth. Finally, you explained why you do not wish to leave the company, citing emotional attachment and loyalty as it is your first job. While the development of some ideas is slightly basic and relies on informal phrasing, all key content requirements are clearly met, justifying a solid band score for this criterion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter exhibits a coherent overall arrangement with a clear, logical progression from explaining your current role and learnings to proposing a departmental shift, and concluding with reasons for staying. Paragraphing is used to separate distinct ideas, such as grouping the job details in the first paragraph, the request and benefits in the second, and the reasons for remaining in the third. However, cohesive devices are sometimes faulty or mechanical, as seen in the run-on sentences and punctuation issues like 'system too so, if possible'. Referencing is generally clear, but the flow is occasionally disrupted by missing conjunctions and comma splices.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, though it tends to be quite basic and contains noticeable spelling and word choice errors. Words such as 'receving' (receiving), 'familer' (familiar), 'colleuges' (colleagues), and 'learend' (learned) indicate recurring spelling slips. While the candidate attempts less common expressions like 'good rapport' and 'personal and professional growth', inaccurate word forms and spelling errors limit the score. Nevertheless, communication is not impeded, and the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the intended message effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The writing displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is inconsistent. There are several run-on sentences and comma splices, such as 'as you know that i am a bright employee' and 'you already know that what is my caliber, i can do multitasking'. Capitalisation errors are also present, such as lowercase 'i'. While complex structures are attempted, they often contain structural awkwardness or punctuation flaws. However, meaning remains clear despite these frequent errors, aligning well with the characteristics of a band 5.5 performance.
