Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The candidate successfully covers all the bullet points outlined in the task instructions. They explain what was learned in the present job ("gained a great knowledge of everything"), suggest a company benefit regarding moving to the IT department to leverage advanced AI skills ("with my advanced skills for todays AI era we can take our business to a next step"), and clearly explain why they want to stay with the company ("co-operation among staff members ... respect towards each other"). The tone is generally appropriate for a letter to a manager, and all parts of the prompt are addressed, demonstrating a clear overall purpose, although some ideas could be slightly more expanded.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter exhibits a clear overall arrangement with distinct paragraph breaks that mirror the structural progression of the prompt. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Further' and 'Lastly', though some of the referencing and transitions are a bit mechanical or awkward (e.g., 'Since that time I have gained...'). Paragraphing is sufficient and appropriate for a short formal letter, but referencing could be smoother to ensure a more natural flow between sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as 'career development' (implied), 'advanced skills', and 'co-operation'. However, there are notable spelling and word choice inaccuracies throughout the text, such as 'deparment' instead of 'department', 'oppurtunity', 'exoecting', and awkward phrasing like 'work in IT instead' and 'work it'. These errors do not impede overall communication, but they restrict the lexical score to a Band 6.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'I am writing this letter to take into your consideration that I want to...' and 'Since that time I have gained...'. However, there are frequent grammatical and punctuation errors, including tense and agreement issues ('Its been been two year I have been working', 'Now, I feels like', 'are working from long time'), missing articles, and awkward spacing around punctuation marks. While meaning is generally clear, the grammatical control is inconsistent.
