Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The student has attempted all parts of the prompt: mentioning what was learned in the present job, suggesting how the company would benefit from a department move, and explaining why they do not wish to leave the company. However, the response falls short of the 150-word minimum, containing only 133 words. This negative impact on length restricts the development of ideas, particularly regarding the benefits to the company and the skills acquired, which remain somewhat brief and general. For instance, the statement 'i could use new techniques in my current working sector as well' is slightly contradictory in the context of moving to a different department. Because the length requirement was not met, the task achievement score is limited.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter has a discernible structure, featuring a clear greeting, sign-off, and paragraph breaks for different parts of the prompt. However, paragraphing is underdeveloped, with some paragraphs consisting of single, short sentences. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Additionally', and 'while working' are attempted, but referencing and logical flow are occasionally faulty. For example, the sentence 'Joining to new department not only benefits to broaden my intellectuality, but also it could also help company too' is mechanically linked and awkward. The overall progression is somewhat disjointed, and the punctuation surrounding cohesive devices and commas is frequently intrusive or incorrect.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, but contains noticeable errors in word choice and collocation. Examples include 'working department' instead of 'department', 'well renowned industry' instead of 'company', and 'good intensives, benefits' instead of 'incentives'. The student attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'intellectuality', 'prominent reason', and 'burdening situation', but these are either used unnaturally or contain inaccuracies. While communication is not severely impeded, the lexical limitations and persistent word-choice errors prevent the response from achieving a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional or participial structures (e.g., 'while working in this well renowned industry from last 2 years'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with prepositions, articles, and verb patterns. Examples include 'Joining to new department', 'company has always give me', 'remains the part of the company', and missing capitalization ('raj'). Furthermore, tense control is inconsistent, such as 'have learnt... and build confidence'. These errors cause some distraction for the reader, though the core meaning usually remains clear.
