Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The candidate has addressed all parts of the prompt, though the development of some ideas is limited and slightly disjointed. The letter states what was learned in the present job, such as making Figma, websites, and business apps. It suggests how the company would benefit by mentioning the candidate's high learning ability and desire to learn new techniques that will be suitable for departmental growth. It also explains the wish to stay by highlighting that this is the first job and a childhood dream. While all bullet points are covered, the tone is occasionally inconsistent and some points are awkwardly expressed, placing this response at Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter features a basic logical organization with standard paragraph breaks used to address different parts of the task. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Furthermore', and 'In addition to it' are utilized to connect ideas, although some transitions feel somewhat mechanical. Referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in the third paragraph where pronouns and sentence structures become confusing, leading to a slight disruption in logical progression. Overall, the arrangement is coherent enough to earn a Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words and industry terms like 'Figma' and 'business'app'. However, there are noticeable word-choice and collocation errors, such as 'express my feeling to move different department', 'giving chance', and 'achieve sucess' (spelling error). While these lexical inaccuracies and spelling slips occur, they do not impede communication, matching the descriptors for Band 5.5 to 6.0. A score of 5.5 reflects the frequency of these errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The candidate attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as missing articles ('working in same department', 'giving chance'), preposition errors ('move different department'), and tense inconsistencies ('I learn a lot of things', 'i want to work with senior groups who present this company'). Furthermore, capitalization of the pronoun 'i' is missing in several instances. Because these errors occur regularly and cause some minor difficulty for the reader, a Band 5.0 is appropriate.
