Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response successfully covers all bullet points required by the prompt. You mentioned what you have learned over the past two years in your present job, such as improving your assignment handling with help from seniors. You also suggested how the company would benefit from moving you, stating that you will 'do my 100% and make benefits for the company and myself.' Finally, you explained why you do not wish to leave the company, noting that you received offers elsewhere but prefer to stay because the company is the best and you are comfortable with the environment. However, the ideas are slightly basic and could have been extended with more professional detail. Overall, all parts of the task are addressed adequately, leading to a band score of 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter maintains a coherent overall arrangement and follows a logical progression from discussing past experience to requesting a department change and explaining reasons for staying. Paragraphing is attempted, although the formatting in the student text contains unusual spacing and line breaks. Basic cohesive devices and pronouns are used, but referencing is sometimes unclear, such as 'the reason is this company is best this company gave me everything'. Some sentences run on without appropriate punctuation or transition words. Because the structure is clear enough to follow despite some mechanical cohesion issues, a band score of 5.5 is appropriate.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, but it remains simple and repetitive. Phrases like 'many new things', 'do many assignments', and 'make benefits' demonstrate a limited range. There are noticeable lexical errors and awkward collocations, such as 'move in different department' instead of 'move to a different department' and 'higher department' instead of 'higher-level department'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to communicate your message, the lack of flexibility and occasional word-choice inaccuracies place this at a band score of 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response shows a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is weak. There are frequent run-on sentences joined by commas rather than proper conjunctions or full stops, such as 'First of all i learned many new things and skills in your company, in starting i did not know much about assignments but then i learned from my seniors and now i do many assignments in very quick time.' Capitalisation is also missing for the pronoun 'i'. These errors cause occasional difficulty for the reader and restrict the range of accurate structures, resulting in a band score of 5.0.
