Dear ....................................,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Manpreet,
Greeting of the day, How are you? . I am writing this letter to you for my movement from one department to others for my progress. As you know from last two year I am working as a supervisor in the company in which I do all my duties with full responsibility and never gave you a chance to fail your expectation. Working as a supervisor, I learned how to do audits, doing production sheet, working on inventory and also completing daily chores with full confidence and accuracy.
Recently, I had converstation with our general manage, who offered me administration role in our company, I really want to have that role as I have completed my study in administration , it can be considered very beneficial for me as well as the company. I really see myself into this role as I am working in this company from last two years and gave my best to fulfil my duties. I am a responsible person and trust worthy for this position.
I never decided to leave this company because this is the only place which gave me opporunity as a beginner when I have no experience in this field and I really find the working environment very friendly just like my own family and most importantly the management of this company is superb.
Hope you would appreciate my decision !
Yours sincerely,
Lovepreet

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points and maintain a clear, appropriate purpose: you describe supervisory duties and learning, explain your interest in an administration role, and give reasons for staying with the company. The examples of audits, production sheets and inventory make your experience relevant, while your administration studies support the proposed move. The benefit to the company is present but less fully developed: saying the move would be beneficial is general, and the letter could explain how your supervisory experience or qualifications would help the administration team. Your reasons for remaining are more specific, especially the opportunity the company gave you and its supportive environment. Developing the employer-focused benefit more clearly would make the response more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a coherent overall structure: it opens with the request, moves to your experience and the proposed role, and then explains why you want to remain with the company. Paragraphing helps distinguish these points, and phrases such as “Recently” and “most importantly” guide the reader through the message. Some connections are less smooth or precise, however. The opening greeting and “How are you?” delay the purpose, and the transition from your qualifications to the company’s benefit is not fully explained. The final request for appreciation also does not clearly invite a discussion or decision. Use more direct transitions and make the relationship between your experience and the company’s advantage explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant workplace vocabulary, including “supervisor,” “audits,” “inventory,” “administration role” and “working environment,” so the reader can understand your experience and aims. However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation and spelling problems reduce naturalness: “movement from one department to others,” “Greeting of the day,” “general manage,” and “trust worthy” are not appropriate or accurate forms in this context. Repetition of “company,” “role” and “duties” also limits flexibility. Aim for precise professional expressions and check spelling and word forms. For example, describe a “transfer to another department,” refer to your “general manager,” and explain how you could “contribute” to the administration team.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses beginning “As you know” and “because,” and the main message remains understandable. Some errors in sentence structure, tense, articles and punctuation are evident. For example, “from last two year I am working” needs a more accurate time construction, while “I learned how to do audits, doing production sheet” does not maintain a consistent grammatical pattern. The opening also has faulty punctuation in “How are you? .” and several sentences run together or use commas where a full stop would be clearer. Work on consistent verb forms and sentence boundaries, while retaining your attempts to connect ideas with subordinate clauses.
