Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You make a relevant request to move into a management role and give some reasons, including your previous experience and a recent management course. However, the letter only partially covers the required points. You mention teaching your assistant and working well with colleagues, but do not clearly explain what you have learned specifically in your current cashier job. The benefit to the company is also asserted rather than explained: “bring our company in top fives” does not show how your skills would help the new department. You do indicate that you want to continue with the company, but the reason is only briefly suggested through your good relationships with staff. The response is also 9 words below the required minimum. Develop each point with specific details and a clear explanation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The ideas are broadly relevant and there is a basic sequence: you make a request, describe your experience, and then mention your ambitions and wish to stay. This gives the reader some sense of the letter’s purpose. However, the response is presented as one continuous block, so the different task points are not clearly separated. Connections between ideas are sometimes abrupt, as in the move from teaching your assistant to claiming suitability for a manager position. The repeated use of “I” and “our company” also makes the progression feel list-like rather than developed. Use separate paragraphs for your current learning, the company’s benefit, and your reason for staying, and add linking phrases that show how each point supports your request.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to the situation, including “team manager,” “management,” “customer behavior,” and “confidence,” so the reader can understand your general aim. The range is limited, though, and several spelling and word-choice errors make the letter less clear or less professional. For example, “mannager,” “experinces,” and “contines” are misspelled, while “bring our company in top fives” is an unclear expression. “I teach everything to my assistant” is also too broad to communicate the specific skills you have developed. Choose precise workplace language and check spelling carefully; phrases such as “contribute to the company’s growth” and “developed strong customer-service skills” would express your ideas more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You communicate mainly through short, simple statements, and some basic sentence patterns are understandable, such as “I am full of confidence and energetic to drive our company.” However, the range is limited, and errors in verb forms, tense, articles, and sentence construction occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “I am working in your company from past two years” needs a present-perfect form and a different time expression, while “Last month, i done a course” has an incorrect verb form. The opening request, “to move my job cashier to team mannager,” is also difficult to interpret grammatically. Practise accurate past and present-perfect forms, and build complete sentences that clearly state who is moving to which department.
