Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is an ongoing debate about whether it is beneficial for experienced photographers to follow and capture the moments of popular celebrities. A large number of individuals are interested in daily routine of famous celebrities . However, others believe that photographers are wasting their time following celebrities. I will discuss both perspectives and explain why I believe photographers are doing excellent job for the community.
To commence with, There are various reasons why people think that why it is beneficial for a cameraperson to capture the pictures and share it on the public platform. Firstly, celebrities have great impact on the community because they are famous and a large number of people idolize them. For example, photographers record a video tape of a famous athlete while doing exercise and share the clip with audience. As a result, a large number of people get inspire and start doing exercise in their daily routine.
On the other hand, many people assume that following famous personalities by photographers brings a few negative outcomes. One reason is that people trust famous personalities and sometimes celebrities receives plenty of money from the business corporations to promote their products even though those contains harmful substances. A news article revealed that a famous cricket player advertised an energy drink which contained poisonous ingredient and it has several health related impact on thousands of people in India.
From my perspective, although following celebrities by media has a few outcomes, I am convinced that when media does his job properly, it can bring various positive effects on the society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and state a clear preference in the introduction and conclusion: you argue that photographers can benefit society. The example of an athlete’s exercise video supports the positive view, while the energy-drink example introduces a possible harm. However, the second view is not fully explained: the concern described is mainly celebrity endorsement of harmful products, rather than photographers following people and intruding on their privacy. Your own position is also asserted more than developed, and the conclusion does not resolve this gap. To strengthen the response, explain why the public’s interest may justify coverage, then directly discuss privacy, stress, or safety concerns caused by persistent photography, and connect your examples explicitly to those arguments.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each perspective, and a concluding opinion. Signposting such as “To commence with” and “On the other hand” makes the shift between views easy to follow, and the examples are placed alongside the relevant points. This meets the lower-band expectation of clear overall organisation and shows some progression. However, the connection between the second paragraph’s criticism of celebrity endorsements and the task’s focus on photographers following celebrities is not made explicit, so the argument’s progression weakens there. Some linking phrases also feel formulaic. Use clearer topic sentences and refer back to the central issue of public interest versus privacy throughout, so the links between claims, examples, and your opinion are more precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “idolize,” “promote their products,” “harmful substances,” and “health related impact.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and attempts at more formal phrasing are evident. Some less common expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, however: “capture the moments” is vague, “share it on the public platform” is awkward, and “a few outcomes” does not clearly convey whether the outcomes are positive or negative. There are also word-form and collocation slips, such as “get inspire” and “poisonous ingredient.” Aim for more precise, natural combinations and check singular/plural forms. This would make the argument clearer and show more controlled use of vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a concession in “although following celebrities by media has a few outcomes” and a relative clause in “an energy drink which contained…” This gives the response some structural variety, and the main meaning is generally understandable. However, errors recur in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence punctuation. For example, “celebrities receives” should use a plural verb, “a large number of people get inspire” needs a passive or adjective form, and “photographers are doing excellent job” is missing an article. Capitalisation after a full stop is also inconsistent. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject–verb match and complete article use, while retaining the complex structures you attempt.
