Student answer (Band 7.0)

It is irrefutable that these days renowned people are followed by paparazzi all over the places they go. It is believed by some that it is good as many are interested their lives, whereas others argued that it is bad to follow these personalities by photographers. This essay will discuss both perspectives and I personally believe that privacy is the right of each and every human and should not be bothered by anyone.

On one side, there are many who believe that famous personalities are good to follow by professional photographers. This is because, they think that these people are role model of many and should know about their lives. Apparently, they feel that this is their right to know what is going on in their personal lives and they eagerly want to know about their families. For instance, In country like India, all the Bollywood personalities and their families captured by paparazzi to share their personal ongoings to public. Thus, people curiously interested in the lives of stars.

On the other hand, who believe that photography of famous personalities is wrong give their views as follow. First and foremost, privacy is the right of human being and should not be violated in any condition. However, violation of this can be the cause of adverse effects on the life of these personalities and on their families. To exemplify, Princess Diana, who was died in an accident when without her permission was followed by paparazzi just to capture her with her boyfriend. Secondly, they can feel isolated as can't move freely outside the world. Therefore, stardom can be caused of depression and anxiety for famous people.

To conclude, although, people are curious to know about the personal lives of stars, I personally believe that it can ruin their privacy and could be push them to hazardous condition of surviving.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both sides of the issue and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the public's interest in celebrities and the ethical concerns regarding privacy. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the public's right to know is stated but not deeply explored. The example of Princess Diana is relevant and well-integrated to support the opposing view. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on your reasoning with more nuanced analysis rather than just listing points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two viewpoints. Cohesive devices such as 'On one side', 'On the other hand', and 'To conclude' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'give their views as follow'. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'who believe that photography of famous personalities is wrong give their views as follow', which lacks a clear subject. Improving the flow between sentences would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing for clear communication. You use some topic-specific terms like 'paparazzi', 'personalities', and 'stardom'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'captured by paparazzi to share their personal ongoings' and 'hazardous condition of surviving'. The range is sufficient to convey your meaning, but it lacks the sophistication and precision required for higher bands. Focusing on more natural collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing will help improve your score in this criterion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'all the Bollywood personalities and their families captured by paparazzi' (missing auxiliary verb), 'who was died' (incorrect passive voice), and 'could be push them' (incorrect modal structure). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor errors in sentence construction. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and the correct use of passive voice constructions, as these are essential for more complex writing.
