Student answer (Band 6.5)

In recent year, paparazzi's became very famous for posting photographs of famous personalities. There is ongoing debate some people believe that photographers perform they duty well as people are interested to know about there lifestyle, on the other hand hand some people believe that they are disturbing their personal life. In my opinion i believe that this tread has multiple drawbacks which will be discussed in upcoming paragraphs.

The primary argument by the followers of famous people is that are highly influences by there favorite personalities and they try to opt same life style. In other words, if people found photo of famous people during market visit and came to know which store they visit, people also wants to visit same store. For example, If influencer drink coffee from specific shop, followers loves to visit that cafe shop.

On the contrary, people who disagree with trend have there own arguments. They believe taking photos of famous person's without consent is complete illegal. This is because of their security reasons and making their life complicated. For example, In 2022, a famous Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala was killed by someone as his location was leaked by paparazzi's.

In my opinion both views has their own merits but i believe that this trend has more negative shades. This is because there are many activities which celebrities wants to enjoy privately without posting them on social media. Additionally, everyone like there privacy and if photographers keep posting famous personality's pictures without consent that effect on their mental health as celebrities got trolled for doing some fun activities with friends and family.

In conclusion, both view has there own importance but according to my opinion I am not in favor of this trend. I firmly believe that famous persons have right to live there freely without worrying about paparazzies.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the influence of celebrities on consumer behavior and the security risks associated with paparazzi. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding consumer influence is a bit repetitive, and the point about mental health could have been expanded with more depth. While the position is clear throughout, the supporting arguments would benefit from more sophisticated elaboration to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a basic attempt at using cohesive devices like 'On the contrary', 'In addition', and 'In conclusion'. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by mechanical transitions and some awkward phrasing, such as 'on the other hand hand'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the connection between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall progression of ideas. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the use of cohesive devices is somewhat repetitive and basic.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'paparazzi', 'consent', and 'influencer'. However, there are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'tread' instead of 'trend', 'there' instead of 'their', and 'effect' instead of 'affect'. These errors are noticeable but do not significantly impede communication. To improve, the student should focus on mastering common collocations and ensuring correct word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('both views has', 'celebrities wants') and the misuse of articles and pronouns ('the paparazzi's', 'there lifestyle'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary commas and apostrophes. While the student attempts complex structures, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the response from reaching a higher band. The errors rarely impede communication, but they are persistent.
