Student answer (Band 6.5)
In current generation, most of the professional photographers prefer to follow famous people because they assume that people are interested in their lives. While few may agree to this, other might not. This essay discuss about both views.
A primary reason that professional photographers follow celebrities is to improve their career. If a photographer follows a famous person closely and becomes their preferred photographer, their works might get famous among the public and also might be able to get link with other famous persons. In addition to that, their overall income will be higher. If they become personal photographer to a famous person, their overall pay will be higher compared to the same work in another field. For example, a wedding photographer.
In contrast, few believes that photographers are committing a mistake by following only celebrities. This might be due to few reasons. First, celebrities always shows their fake emotions in their photographs. For instance, they showcase themselves being happy by posting their pictures in social media despite having issues in their personal life. Another reason to add that nowadays most of famous people promote any products without considering that it leads to a negative impact in consumer's life. To illustrate, a cigarette advertisement. This also contributes to the photographers that follows the wrong famous people.
To sum up, in few cases following a famous person might help in improving overall career development and higher income, however in most of the cases it leads to a negative impact within the society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both views regarding paparazzi and celebrity photography. However, the development is somewhat limited. While you discuss the career benefits for photographers and the negative aspects of celebrity culture, the connection between the two is occasionally tenuous. For example, the argument about celebrities promoting harmful products is relevant to celebrity culture but less directly linked to the act of photographing them. Furthermore, your own opinion is not clearly stated in the introduction or conclusion; you mention that it leads to negative impacts, but a more explicit stance would improve the score. To reach a higher band, ensure each paragraph directly supports your central argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition to that', 'For instance', and 'To sum up' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For instance, the transition between the discussion of fake emotions and product promotion in the third paragraph is abrupt. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the final sentence where 'it' refers back to a complex idea. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring clearer logical progression between ideas would enhance the cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'professional photographers', 'celebrities', and 'social media'. However, there is a reliance on basic vocabulary, and some collocations are slightly unnatural, such as 'get link with' or 'committing a mistake by following only celebrities'. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and idiomatic expressions. For example, instead of 'get link with', you could use 'establish professional connections'. The range is sufficient for the task but lacks the flexibility and precision required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('In current generation', 'in consumer's life') and subject-verb agreement ('celebrities always shows', 'photographers that follows'). These errors do not impede communication, but they are noticeable. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, specifically pluralisation and article usage. Increasing the variety of complex sentence structures, such as using more conditional or passive constructions, would also help demonstrate a wider range of grammatical control.
