Student answer (Band 6.0)

Famous people are always been photographed by professional photographers and I believe this is the job of every famous photographers and journalist.

Everyone want to know everything about their favorite actor or singer so photographers have the role to immortalize everything about thees famous people.

News and gossip are always post by photographer and everyone enjoy to watch this type of photo about normal life of popular people.

I also believe famous people need privacy because could be very annoying always see their private life on social media or TV.

These famous people for contrasting this have build big and private houses for keep the photographers far away to their life, but most of the time the photographers keep waiting outside the property.

New technology helps the photographers to finding new way to take photos, like drones recently the photographer have used drones to spy famous people and take new exclusive photos.

For eliminate this problem the famous people have build some jammer radio frequency in their houses, with this jammer drones couldn't fly around the houses of famous people, I really think is a good way for keep their privacy safe form the photographers.

I think in the future photographers could found new techniques for spy the famous people, like hacking maybe they could get access to personal computer or phones and download all the private photos from famous people, may they also ask for money or for something if the famous people want to keep their privacy.

I believe photographer should limited the amount of photos they take form the famous people for keep their privacy safe.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention public interest and the need for privacy, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. The essay tends to focus heavily on the technical aspects of photography (drones, jammers) rather than the broader ethical or social implications requested by the prompt. To improve, ensure that your arguments are fully extended with clear reasoning and real-world context rather than focusing on hypothetical technological scenarios.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into a series of short, somewhat disconnected paragraphs. While there is a logical progression from the benefits of photography to the need for privacy and future concerns, the use of cohesive devices is very limited. Many sentences start abruptly, and there is a lack of linking words to connect ideas within and between paragraphs. The paragraphing is also inconsistent, with some very short paragraphs that disrupt the flow of the argument. Improving the use of transition signals (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'on the other hand') would significantly enhance the readability and coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on repetitive phrasing, such as 'famous people' and 'photographers', which appears frequently throughout the text. There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'immortalize everything' and 'for eliminate this problem'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of varied vocabulary and the presence of minor errors in word formation limit the score. Using a wider variety of synonyms and more sophisticated collocations would help demonstrate a stronger command of the language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('Everyone want', 'photographer have'), verb tense consistency ('are always been', 'have build'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple or contain errors that make them sound unnatural. For example, 'for keep the photographers far away to their life' is grammatically incorrect and awkward. While the meaning is usually understandable, the persistent errors in basic grammar and the lack of complex sentence structures prevent a higher score. Focusing on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors would be highly beneficial.
