Student answer (Band 7.0)

In the recent time, it has been seen that the popular individuals, who have a good influence on the society, are always seen been photographed by the professionals. This is debatable topic as some people say that it intervenes their private life and others think that it is good that public see and follow them.

On the one hand, it is considered utterly wrong that camera always follows these celebrities everywhere they go because it is their personal life and we should give them space. Moreover, it is also burden on the famous people to always act like in a certain behaviour as they can not show the frustration and if they do, they have face backlash from the society. In addition to it, it also sometimes creates problems for them, for instance, if a anybody has strong following, many political parties or other criminal groups targets them for their personal benefits.

On the other hand, some people argues that these well known individuals should often make public appearances, as they are being loved by the public and they want to see them and follow them. Public always look after these people and always try to copy them and this can play a crucial role in the society if these people use their stardom to influence people in a positive way, although it could go the other way also, so that is why it is important for us also to follow good celebrities.

To conclude this, i will say that both the statements are right. The people who are well known and followed, could make a positive change in the society, but on the other side, it is not fair for them to just show their private life in public. In my opinion, the popular people should be photographed by the professionals but photographers also have to set a boundary.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the pressure on celebrities and the potential for positive social influence. However, some points are slightly under-developed; for instance, the mention of political parties or criminal groups targeting celebrities is a strong point but lacks a clear connection to the argument about photography. The position is consistent throughout, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the main points while offering a balanced view. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting example is fully explained and directly linked to the core argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized into four paragraphs, with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand', 'Moreover', and 'In addition to it', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are a bit mechanical or repetitive. The referencing is generally clear, though some sentences are slightly disjointed. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different viewpoints. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that the progression of ideas within paragraphs is smoother and more sophisticated.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'intervenes', 'stardom', and 'backlash'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'In the recent time' (should be 'Recently' or 'In recent times') and 'look after' (which usually means to care for, rather than to observe). The range is sufficient to convey meaning, but more precise and varied vocabulary would enhance the quality of the writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'seen been photographed' (should be 'seen being photographed'), 'it is also burden' (missing article 'a'), and 'some people argues' (subject-verb agreement error). Punctuation is mostly functional, though there are some minor issues with comma usage. The errors do not significantly impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and article usage would lead to more accurate writing.
