Student answer (Band 7.0)

In today's era photographing has become a popular thing people do with interest. Popular personalities are being photographed by some well trained photographers almost in every place they visit. Few pupils believe that this is a nice thing as people shows interest in their lives, whereas some find this wrong. This essay will intend to analyse both the views along with my opinion in conclusion.

To commence with, it is fantastic to capture photographs of famous personalities as these can be used to influence others. To explicit, there are many people who are followed by pupils on a large scale, many people try to dress and live like their role models and increase the way of living. For instance, the outfits different styles which are shown during the met gala and shown through pictures taken by professional photographers are highly adorned by many other people and gets compliments on it. Moreover, taking photographs of famous personalities every where they go gives an opportunity to get to know about their real personalities which are somewhere hidden on the big platforms.

On the flip side, capturing well know personalities where ever they go through passionate photographers can abuse their right to privacy. To elaborate, everyone has as right to enjoy the private time, which is destroyed through taking pictures of them everywhere they visit. For example, in 2019 a famous cricketer once shared on podcast that how being photographed where ever he goes made him feel uncomfortable and cannot enjoy his alone time.

In my opinion, as far as I am concerned I am in favour of latter notion that it is wrong that photographers follow famous people. Photographers posts the photos of known personalities everywhere which are seen by people of each age group and even some actresses who are shown drinking and smoking are seen by children as well, this causes a negative impact on their development. Moreover, many celebrities being captured are seen hiding there faces with hands and masks that shows how uncomfortable they feel at that moment and photographers do not even take the permission before clicking pictures.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the influence of celebrities on fashion and the ethical concerns regarding privacy. However, some arguments are slightly under-developed; for instance, the point about celebrities influencing 'way of living' could be more explicitly linked to the benefits of photography. The position is consistent throughout the essay, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the writer's stance. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting example is more deeply analyzed to demonstrate a stronger connection to the main argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. Cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'On the flip side', and 'Moreover' are used to guide the reader through the argument. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as the use of 'latter notion' which feels a bit forced. The progression of ideas is generally smooth, but the internal structure of some sentences could be improved to ensure a more natural flow between points. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate and contributes to the clarity of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common items, such as 'passionate photographers' and 'adorned', though some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'popular thing' or 'pupils' to refer to people in general. There are also minor collocation errors, such as 'increase the way of living' instead of 'improve their lifestyle'. While the range is sufficient to convey meaning, more precise and sophisticated vocabulary would enhance the quality of the writing and help achieve a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, such as 'everyone has as right' and 'photographers posts the photos'. Additionally, there are issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage throughout the text. Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear, and the mistakes do not significantly impede communication. To improve, the writer should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with verb forms and pluralization, and aim for more consistent control over complex structures.
