Student answer (Band 7.0)
In this modern era, the expert photographers click the shots of renowned personalities wherever they visit. Some people believe that they get information about their favorite personalities through this while other oppose this situation as everyone deserves their personal time. This essay intends to discuss both views along with my opinion.
On the one hand, many individuals believe that photographing the famous personalities is acceptable as they have huge fan following. To explain it more, fans enjoy getting updates about their daily lives, where they go and what they do. Hence, it can be beneficial for actors or singers to promote their upcoming movies, songs or businesses. Moreover, photographing is source of income for many people. They can earn more money by the increased viewers or subscribers when they post about the celebrities.
On the other hand, there are ample reasons why following and recording celebrities everywhere is not acceptable. The most prominent is that it can seriously invade their privacy. Like everyone else, famous personalities need personal time to spend with their families, relax or carry out everyday activities without being watched. In addition, some photographers go too far by chasing and photographing celebrities without their permission, which can cause stress and even create dangerous situations. Ultimately, such behavior is unethical.
To conclude, media coverage can help celebrities maintain their popularity and satisfy public curiosity, in my opinion, although the public has an interest in celebrities, photographers should respect their boundaries. Taking photographs at public events is reasonable but should be avoided during their private time.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both sides of the issue and providing a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. The ideas are relevant and logically developed, such as the mention of promotional benefits for celebrities versus the ethical concerns regarding privacy. However, the development is somewhat brief. To reach a higher band, you could provide more specific examples, such as referencing a particular type of media outlet or a well-known incident, to add depth to your arguments. The position is consistent throughout the essay, meeting the requirements for a Band 7.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central topic, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow. You use cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'Moreover', and 'In addition' effectively to link your points. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the overall structure supports the argument well, which is characteristic of a Band 7 performance.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to discuss the topic with some precision, using terms like 'renowned personalities', 'public curiosity', and 'unethical'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'click the shots' (which is informal) and 'photographing is source of income' (missing an article). While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, the range is somewhat limited, and there is a slight reliance on repetitive phrasing. Expanding your repertoire of collocations would help elevate your score to the next level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While many sentences are error-free, there are occasional grammatical slips, such as 'photographing the famous personalities' (unnecessary article) and 'by the increased viewers' (preposition choice). Punctuation is generally accurate, and the errors present do not impede communication. To achieve a higher band, you should aim for a greater variety of complex structures, such as conditional sentences or more sophisticated relative clauses, while maintaining the current level of accuracy.
