Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument, but the development is insufficient. The essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of the discussion. While you mention that people enjoy sharing life updates and that others find following celebrities intrusive, these points are not fully explored or supported with clear, logical reasoning. Furthermore, your own opinion is not clearly stated or integrated into the conclusion. To improve, ensure you provide a clear position in the introduction and dedicate full paragraphs to developing each side of the argument with detailed examples and explanations.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical flow is often interrupted by awkward phrasing and a lack of sophisticated cohesive devices. While you use basic transition words like 'On the one hand' and 'To conclude', the connection between sentences is sometimes mechanical or unclear. For instance, the transition between the idea of celebrities wanting photos and the idea of privacy is abrupt. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'good way', 'beautiful', and 'famous people'. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'loction', 'famouse', 'beauitiful', 'professonal', and 'eariliar'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary, including less common lexical items and collocations related to the topic of media, privacy, and celebrity culture. Focus on accuracy in spelling and word choice to ensure your meaning is conveyed precisely without distracting errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Common issues include missing articles (e.g., 'number of famous people'), subject-verb agreement errors (e.g., 'taking photos are'), and incorrect sentence structures (e.g., 'As a resulthey waste of money'). The range of structures is quite limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. To improve, you should practice using a mix of complex sentence structures, such as relative clauses or conditional sentences, and pay closer attention to basic grammar rules like pluralization and verb tense consistency.
