Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The argument regarding the benefits of professional photographers is slightly confused, as it conflates 'professional photographers' (who are often paparazzi) with 'hired personal photographers'. The discussion on the negative aspects is more focused and relevant. While the prompt is addressed, the logic in the first body paragraph is slightly circular, focusing on the technical quality of photos rather than the broader societal implications of constant surveillance. To reach a higher band, ensure that the arguments directly address the ethical tension between public interest and privacy.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'Initially', 'what is the significance of the later aspect?', and 'To conclude'. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'what is the significance of the later aspect?'. Referencing is generally clear, though the flow between sentences in the first body paragraph is occasionally disjointed. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the overall progression of ideas is easy to follow, despite some minor issues with sentence-level connectivity.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

There is an attempt to use a range of vocabulary, including words like 'cynics', 'aforementioned', and 'unauthorized'. However, there are several spelling errors ('intrupstion', 'photograhers', 'reveil', 'lightening') and some awkward collocations ('breeding ground for the opportunity', 'unreal personality'). These errors occasionally distract the reader, though they do not prevent the meaning from being understood. To improve, the student should focus on accurate spelling and using words in their correct context, rather than attempting overly complex vocabulary that may not fit the specific argument.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('photographers leads', 'they likely tend to follow'), punctuation errors (spaces before commas), and awkward phrasing ('including I, harbour the thought'). While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors limits the score. The student should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed with correct syntax to avoid ambiguity.
