Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays celebrities are photographed by experienced cameraman's wherever they go. Many people says that following famous people is good as people are interested in their lives while others argue. In coming paragraphs i will discuss both views and give my own opinion.

To begin with, many social media influencers are getting content from the lives of celebrities that's why they are more excited to know about their lives. Mostly paparazzi's follows famous celebrities and takes pictures to show on social media about their looks, cars and Net worth they have and what's going on their lives as public gets more crazy to know about their favorite celebrity.

On the other taking private pictures without their knowledge is not fair enough as it disturb their privacy. Further sometimes they do not want to share their personal life as people gives negative comments and they faces hate. Moreover, it makes them stressed and it's hard to handle everything. Sometimes unintentionally some pictures are shared by famous photographers that should not be shared that makes a lot of mess in social media and their personal life. For example, recently a reality show happened where a personal picture was shared by someone on social media that leads to end of his relationship and he faces so much of hate due to misunderstanding as people do not have exact information what happened.

To summarize, we can say that taking pictures of famous people is good if they do not disturb their personal life and do not create any mess in their lives. Further, there privacy should not be disturb so they should know about the images and asking them politely whether to post or not will be a great initiative.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the public's interest in celebrities and the negative impact on privacy, the arguments remain at a surface level. For example, the example provided about a reality show is vague and lacks sufficient detail to fully support your point. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting points are more thoroughly explained and that your examples are specific and well-integrated into the argument. Your position is consistent throughout the essay, which is a positive aspect of your writing.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'On the other hand', and 'To summarize' to guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear (e.g., 'that's why they are more excited'). The transition between the second and third paragraphs could be smoother to improve the overall progression of ideas. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the internal cohesion within paragraphs needs more variety to avoid repetitive structures.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'social media influencers', 'paparazzi', and 'privacy'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and incorrect pluralization, such as 'cameraman's' instead of 'cameramen' and 'paparazzi's' instead of 'paparazzi'. Additionally, phrases like 'create any mess' are informal and imprecise. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensure that you use plural forms correctly. Expanding your range of collocations would also help you achieve a higher score in this criterion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Many people says', 'public gets more crazy'), incorrect verb tenses, and punctuation errors. For instance, 'they faces hate' should be 'they face hate'. While you attempt complex sentences, they are often marred by these errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and proofreading for common slips in tense and pluralization. Increasing the variety of complex structures while maintaining accuracy will be key to moving up.
