Student answer (Band 6.5)
It has become increasingly common for photos of prominent personalities to be taken by professional photographers everywhere. While some people are in favour of this trend as people get to know about their lives, others have the opposite view. I believe it is largely a negative development due to certain concerns associated with it.
One main reason why some support the idea that photographers take pictures of renowned individuals is that people stay up-to-date about their personal lives. When photojournalists capture each moment, what they do and how they live, their fans get excited to see them, and sometimes they are their role models. They are likely to follow them and their lifestyle.
However, others argue that photographers do not need to capture them everywhere because of their privacy. Sometimes it may become difficult for them to even go out of their home alone. Famous people are often surrounded by photographers and others, which might affect their normal lives. It not only disturbs their personal lives, but also causes unnecessary stress.
In my opinion, famous people should not be followed by photographers to take their pictures because it is unsafe for their families. They may be afraid to go out with their families and spend quality time with them because photographers are chasing them all the time. As a result, they feel unsafe and remain at home to protect their families.
In conclusion, although the updating of renowned personalities is understandable, their privacy and family protection remain a key concern. Photographers should respect their privacy and family while taking pictures.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the public's interest in celebrities versus the negative impact on privacy and safety. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'role models' in the second paragraph is a bit brief and could be further extended with a specific example. The position is consistent throughout, and the conclusion effectively summarises the main points. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully explored with more depth and specific illustrative examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organised with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central theme, which helps the reader follow the argument. Cohesive devices such as 'While', 'However', and 'As a result' are used to link ideas, although some transitions feel slightly mechanical. The progression of ideas is generally smooth, though the connection between the public's interest and the celebrities' role model status could be more tightly integrated. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different viewpoints and the writer's own stance.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There is some use of topic-specific vocabulary such as 'photojournalists', 'prominent personalities', and 'privacy'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there is a reliance on simpler phrasing (e.g., 'good thing', 'bad development'). To improve, the writer should aim to incorporate more precise collocations and less common lexical items to demonstrate a higher level of control. The current vocabulary is sufficient to convey meaning without any significant errors that impede understanding.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. Most sentences are clear and easy to follow. There are some minor grammatical inaccuracies, such as 'photographers take pictures of renowned individuals' (which could be more naturally phrased as 'photographers taking pictures') and 'the updating of renowned personalities' (which is slightly awkward). Despite these occasional slips, the grammar does not impede communication. To achieve a higher band, the writer should aim for a greater variety of complex structures and ensure higher precision in verb forms and noun phrases.
