Student answer (Band 6.0)

In recent times, it is often seen that famous people are photographed by the professional photographers. Some people say it is a good thing because they are public figures, and people are interested to know about them. However, others believe people should not follow them just by looking at their pictures, and how they clicked in that. I personally reckon the general public should only get inspired by their work and contribution towards society.

on the first side, why do the famous people only prefer to get clicked by professional photographers? To answer, they know, they are public figures, and they earn money through it. Furthermore, in today's social media life where almost everybody is on social media platforms and follow their faviroute celebrity, it may put an extra burden on celebrity to post a good nice looking pictures on such platforms and receive as many as likes and comments possible. Also, this keeps an artist to engage with their fans, and inspire them in many ways, such as to follow fashion, how to carry oneself and few.

On the other side, I believe it is more important to like and follow someone or public figures on the basis of their contribution to society. To explain, in today's time where social media is at it's peak, and people are posting so many unnecessary things on social media just to get the attention from people. Therefore, it gets very important to choose the right person as their hero and look what they do for the society's benefit. In other words, their contribution for the society rather than liking and following them on the basis of what they upload and how they look on the photos because it is all fake.

To conclude, yes, for the celebrities it is important to get clicked by professional photographers because they earn money through it. However, as far as I concerned people should always prioritize the contribution and benefit one offers and choose them as your heroes to follow.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The first body paragraph focuses on why celebrities seek professional photography (monetary gain and social media engagement), which is a relevant point, but the second paragraph is slightly repetitive regarding the 'fake' nature of social media. The argument could be strengthened by providing more specific examples of how professional photography impacts privacy or public perception. While the task is fully addressed, the depth of analysis remains at a moderate level, fitting the criteria for a band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Furthermore', 'On the other side', and 'In other words', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or forced, such as 'on the first side', which is not standard academic phrasing. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the connection between 'unnecessary things' and the main topic of professional photography is a bit loose. Overall, the progression of ideas is coherent, but the management of cohesive devices could be more natural.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'contribution towards society' and 'prioritize', but the range is somewhat limited. There are also instances of awkward phrasing and minor errors, such as 'faviroute' (spelling) and 'how they clicked in that' (unnatural collocation). The use of 'fake' is a bit simplistic for an academic essay. To reach a higher band, the student should focus on more precise collocations and a wider variety of topic-specific vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the flow. Examples include 'it is often seen that famous people are photographed by the professional photographers' (incorrect article usage), 'it may put an extra burden on celebrity' (missing article), and 'as far as I concerned' (missing 'am'). Punctuation errors, such as the unnecessary comma in 'social media is at it's peak', are also present. These errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score.
