Student answer (Band 5.5)

Currently well-known individuals are photographed by people who have professional skills in photography everywhere they go. Some adults argue that this is a positive development as nowadays public are interested in their lives. While others believe that photographers are wrong to follow popular people. Although having pictures clicked by professional person saves time for individuals who have hectic schedule, I believe that if photographer clicks picture of nature or historical place they would be more popular than photographing well-known people. The main advantage of hiring photographers while on trip or events reduces pressure on deciding poses and dresses. This is because popular influencers have less time to select their poses and dresses due to a limited time before event, and photographer assist them before and during event about their preference for that. In addition, currently a lot of companies and film industries invite influencer to promote their new products and upcoming movies. Because of those benefits from hired person for photography, famous people are more interested in creating script which enable them to perform better during the event. Hence, photographers can be highly preferred by them. On the other hand, the first drawback of following famous people is reducing their personality. Because if they follow their passion and click the picture of nature and monumental places such as Taj-Mahel and the Pyramids of Egypt, they will get more popularity. Moreover, nowadays, majority of photographers run in a race of clicking picture of celebrities which is a negative development. As a result, it can be often hard for them to show their valuable skills to community if they do not get enough chance to photograph.

In conclusion, celebrities and well-known people often like to be photographed by skilled person because it offers more time to focus on other things. While, I believe that showing their skill to community by clicking pictures of nature and monuments would be better option for them.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument, but the development is inconsistent. While you discuss the benefits of professional photography for celebrities, your counter-argument focuses on the photographers' artistic potential rather than the ethical issue of privacy or the public's right to know, which was the core of the prompt. Your personal opinion is stated but remains somewhat disconnected from the main debate, as it focuses on what photographers 'should' do rather than whether following celebrities is right or wrong. To improve, ensure your arguments directly address the prompt's specific focus on the ethics of paparazzi culture.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or slightly inaccurate. For example, starting a sentence with 'While, I believe...' is grammatically incorrect and disrupts the flow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the second paragraph where 'those benefits' refers back to a list of ideas that are not fully linked. The progression of ideas is present but could be smoother with more varied and precise linking words to connect the arguments more logically.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'hectic schedule' and 'monumental places'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'pictures clicked', 'popular people' instead of 'celebrities', and 'run in a race of clicking'. These errors occasionally make the text sound unnatural. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing. Expanding your vocabulary to include more sophisticated synonyms for 'famous' and 'photograph' would also be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect clarity. Common issues include missing articles (e.g., 'photographer assist them', 'before event'), incorrect verb forms ('if photographer clicks'), and punctuation errors. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevent the writing from reaching a higher band. You should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles to improve the overall accuracy of your writing.
