Student answer (Band 6.0)
Taking photos of famous people by a professional photographer is very common in recent days. Some people believe that it is a good thing, as people have an interest in their lives. while other argue the exact opposite. I will discuss both points in the following paragraphs.
On the one hand, people can learn about the good things from photographs. To elaborate, famous people are doing many good activities in their lives, such as donating money and collecting money for poor people. As a result, some people can take ideas from this, and they can do something like that, which is very helpful for society. For example, my brother started going to the gym after seeing photos of Salman Khan, who is a hero in Bollywood, going to the gym. So, it will help society in a good way.
On the other hand, it has some bad effects on people's lives because some famous people are very rich and they can spend money on purchasing expensive things. As a result, people who can not afford to buy expensive things start robbing for that. For example, my friend who follows famous people had crime for the expensive clothes. Hence, it would not be wrong to say that it is the bad side of this scenario.
In conclusion, although it helps to learn some good skills from the photographs, it can be a reason for robbery. In my opinion , we should follow famous people by their skills, not after seeing some photographs.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. The argument regarding the 'bad effects' of paparazzi is logically weak; linking the consumption of luxury goods by celebrities directly to criminal behavior by the public is an over-generalization that lacks a convincing causal link. While the prompt is addressed, the supporting examples, such as the claim about a friend committing a crime due to celebrity fashion, are not fully developed or plausible in an academic context. To reach a higher band, you should focus on more nuanced arguments, such as the invasion of privacy or the ethical implications of the media industry.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand,' 'On the other hand,' and 'In conclusion,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or repetitive. The referencing is generally clear, though the connection between sentences within the second body paragraph is somewhat strained due to the logical gaps in the argument. Overall, the structure is sufficient to ensure the message is conveyed without confusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, but it is somewhat limited and repetitive. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'good things,' 'bad things,' and 'good activities.' There is an attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'professional photographer' and 'scenario,' but the range is not broad enough to demonstrate flexibility or precision. Some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'start robbing for that' or 'had crime for the expensive clothes,' which indicates a lack of control over collocation and idiomatic expression. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise academic terms would improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'Taking photos... is very common in recent days' (should be 'Taking photos of famous people by professional photographers is common nowadays'), and 'while other argue' (should be 'while others argue'). There are also issues with article usage and prepositional phrases. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and refining complex sentence structures will help improve your accuracy.
