Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some people have the opinion that in recent time taking photos of famous people by professional photographers is a good thing because the public find their lives interesting while others think that these photographers are wrong to follow popular people everywhere. In my opinion, I think the two can co-exist.

Famous individual most time seek to take away their private lives off social media and the blogs. They yearn for some privacy and serenity because they are humans, and it is beneficial to their physical and mental well being. I believe these photographers have a job, and want to feed on every information they can get from a third party or themselves. However, i agree that invading someones safe space is a turnoff.

In addition, it is no doubt the media people would want to use mean, and hurtful captions to these pictures and videos just for them to go viral. Sadly, bad news spread as fast as a wild fire.

Furthermore, these celebrities are majorly known for their sustainable career built over the years. For examples we have singers, footballers, actors and many more. They are booked and paid for one event or the other. Most people are interested in their martial lifestyle too. In addition, they can be seen going on a date, shopping, swimming pool and so on. It is always an avenue for experienced camera men to capture sweet moments. I would generally agree to these beautiful pictures of them. Of course, we are in for the trends.

In conclusion, I would not argue that nowadays some persons think photographers are doing a good thing while others believe it is wrong for camera people to follow famous celebrities everywhere they go just because the public are interested in their lives. I would rather say that can work hand in hand.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention the need for privacy and the public's interest in celebrities, the arguments lack depth and specific examples are underdeveloped. For instance, the mention of 'singers, footballers, actors' is a list rather than an illustrative example that supports your point. To improve, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-explained idea that directly supports your position. Your conclusion is also slightly repetitive and does not fully synthesize the points made in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition,' 'Furthermore,' and 'In conclusion.' However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the logical progression within paragraphs is occasionally weak. For example, the transition from discussing the negative impact of paparazzi to the career success of celebrities in the third paragraph is abrupt. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'I would generally agree to these beautiful pictures of them,' which lacks a clear antecedent. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help the ideas connect more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for a higher band score. You use some basic or slightly unnatural phrasing, such as 'feed on every information' (information is uncountable) and 'martial lifestyle' (which refers to war, rather than 'marital' or 'private'). There is also some repetition of simple words like 'good' and 'people.' To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations and topic-specific vocabulary related to media ethics, privacy, and public interest. Avoid informal phrasing like 'turnoff' and 'camera men' in favor of more academic alternatives.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the fluency of the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'bad news spread' instead of 'spreads'), missing articles (e.g., 'in recent time' should be 'in recent times'), and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'I would not argue that nowadays some persons think...'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor errors with capitalization and comma usage. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and attempt to use a wider variety of complex structures, such as conditional sentences or relative clauses, with greater precision.
