Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, famous people are photographed by professional photographers wherever they go. some people believe that it is a good thing to follow them because public are interested in thier lives. while other other think that they should not follow famous people. In my opinion, At some extent it is okay to follow them and photograph them but there should be a limit to that as they also have life to live.

There are some people who love and support photogyaphy as that's their profession. Many people are interested in famous people or celebritie's life that what is going in with them, what are they doing, etc. As people get curious photographers get influence to photograph them take videos and post them on social media or in newspaper. They provde people information that people need to hear like which movie they might be doing, which event they are attending right now. For example, I just saw a reel where many people got together to meet a famous person who was attending a fil event where there were so many photograohers were involved and people got to know through them about the event. So people like this kind of information.

On the other hand, I think people should give me some privacy, because at the end they are also human being; they have their own family to spend time with. followed by so many photographers people get really uncomfortable and irritated some time. Famous people or celebrities tend to avoid going to public places as they know they will be followed byt many photograohers and wont be able to enjoy their life which is really wrong.

In conclusion, I believe that photography is not a bad thing as people get to know about what celebrity is doing what film is coming. but there should be a limit to it where they can enjoy their life too.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the public's interest in celebrity news versus the need for privacy. However, the development is somewhat basic. For instance, the argument regarding the public's interest could be expanded with more sophisticated reasoning beyond just 'people like this kind of information.' The conclusion is clear, but the overall development of ideas remains at a functional level rather than a fully extended one. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more nuanced arguments and deeper analysis of the implications of paparazzi culture.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. There is a basic progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive. For example, the transition 'On the other hand' is used correctly, but the linking between sentences within paragraphs is occasionally disjointed. Some referencing is also unclear, such as the phrase 'give me some privacy' in the third paragraph, where the pronoun 'me' is confusing as it should refer to the celebrities. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring clear pronoun reference would enhance the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several spelling errors, such as 'photogyaphy', 'celebritie's', 'provde', and 'byt', which are distracting. While you use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'celebrities', 'social media', and 'privacy', the overall range is limited. To improve, you should focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring accurate spelling. Avoid informal phrasing like 'what is going in with them' and instead use more formal academic expressions to better suit the tone of an IELTS essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('public are interested', 'photographers get influence') and missing articles ('at fil event'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage and capitalization at the start of sentences. While you attempt complex sentences, they often contain errors that slightly impede the reader's flow. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for minor slips in grammar and punctuation.
