Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument, but the development is somewhat uneven. While you clearly state your position, the arguments regarding the fashion industry and economic benefits are only tangentially related to the core issue of paparazzi and privacy. The conclusion is incomplete, as the final sentence is cut off, which prevents a full summary of your position. To improve, ensure that your supporting points directly address the ethical implications of photography rather than shifting focus to the broader fashion industry, and always ensure your conclusion is fully articulated.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'Probing further this is a digital world'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the abrupt ending significantly disrupts the flow of the final paragraph. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, logical progression that leads to a finished, coherent conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'renowned', 'notion', and 'ameliorate'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'make photographs' instead of 'take photographs' and 'adopt the fashion of the famous people' instead of 'emulate the style of celebrities'. Some phrasing is repetitive, and the vocabulary lacks the precision required for higher bands. Focusing on collocations—words that naturally go together—will help improve the naturalness of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'people has easy access' (subject-verb agreement), 'every one wish to be famous' (subject-verb agreement), and 'every one has its own earning' (incorrect pronoun usage). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage to improve accuracy.
