Student answer (Band 5.5)
Famous celebrities are often in spotlight of public and media.
In current times famous artists, cricketers, or politicians are followed closely where ever they commute and their pictures are often capture by professional photographers and social media channels. A substantial number of individuals are of the opinion that it is a good trend because the society are interested in their professional and personal lives. While others argue that capturing photos of famous personalities without their consent and by following them is not appropriate. This essay will discuss both the perspectives whether following and clicking photos of great personalities is appropriate or not, before presenting my own opinion.
On the one hand, celebrities have great influence on the society especially on current youth. They often have a curiosity to know more about their personal and professional life journey. For instance, they wants to know their upcoming movies, their private affairs, what clothes they wear and what they eat. As a result, social media channels and professional photographers wants to increase their ratings and views so they often closely follow well-known celebrities to collect more information and capture their latest photographs to publish and post on their channels and social media accounts.
On the other hand, other group of people argue that following and photographing without the consent of renowned individuals is not consider as good manner.

In conclusion, photographers should show them selfs by following proper procedure and

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is uneven. The first body paragraph is reasonably well-supported, but the second body paragraph is quite brief and lacks depth. Furthermore, the conclusion is incomplete, ending abruptly mid-sentence, which prevents a full summary of the position. While the task is addressed, the lack of a finished conclusion and the limited development of the second viewpoint mean the response does not fully meet the requirements for a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. There is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand'. However, the flow is interrupted by the incomplete final sentence. Additionally, some transitions between sentences feel mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear. The lack of a proper conclusion significantly impacts the overall coherence of the piece, as the final thought is left hanging.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express basic ideas. There are some attempts at topic-specific vocabulary like 'consent', 'renowned', and 'professional and personal lives'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice and form, such as 'celebrities itself' (should be 'themselves') and 'show them selfs' (should be 'themselves'). The range is somewhat limited, and the repetition of words like 'photographers' and 'celebrities' suggests a need for a wider variety of synonyms to improve the quality of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues like 'they wants to know' and 'photographers wants to increase'. There are also errors in article usage and prepositional phrases, such as 'in spotlight of public'. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors, combined with the incomplete final sentence, indicates a lack of control over more complex structures.
