Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 123 words. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed. While you identify two opposing views, the development of these ideas is severely limited. The essay stops abruptly mid-sentence, preventing a full discussion or a clear conclusion. To improve, you must expand your arguments with more detailed explanations and relevant examples, ensuring you complete the essay structure (introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion) within the required length.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. While you use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly' and 'However', the progression of ideas is hindered by the incomplete nature of the text. Paragraphing is attempted, but the abrupt ending makes it difficult to assess the overall logical flow. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that ideas are linked smoothly using a variety of cohesive devices such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in contrast', rather than relying on simple transitions.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. You use phrases like 'well known individuals' and 'famous personalities' which are acceptable but limited in range. There are also errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'the society want to know' (should be 'society wants') and 'feel indifference to development' (should be 'feel indifferent to this development'). To achieve a higher score, you need to incorporate a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary and demonstrate more precise control over word forms and collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The grammar contains frequent errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'some folks, supported this development' (incorrect comma usage and tense), 'every individuals' (subject-verb agreement error), and 'in other to' (should be 'in order to'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, with limited attempts at complex sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and punctuation. Once these are consistent, work on integrating complex structures like relative clauses or conditional sentences to demonstrate greater grammatical range.
