Student answer (Band 6.5)

In this modern world, professional photographers follow celebrities everywhere to click their photographs. A group of individual believe that it is a good trend as people like get update about their daily life. However, few opponents argue that it is not right to follow famous personalities. In my view, this trend can bring positive change in people's life if photographers take pictures with necessary caution. Reasons behind both these views along with my opinion are elaborated in following paragraphs.

There are several valid reasons behind a thought of people that it is a good thing. The primary one is, individuals want to be updated with current fashion trend. This is because increasing number of people are using social media app and post their daily life photos on Instagram and Snapchat. App users like to follow modern fashion sense and show off in front of others which encourage them to follow famous personality's fashion trend. Moreover, it may brings positive change in person's life by following kind people. For example, Sonu Sood, an actor of Bollywood film industry, published a picture of him donating food and clothes to needy ones. As a result many fans motivated to donate food and clothes on their special occasions.

On the other hand, sometimes following famous people by camera-men is not proven right because of many valid arguments. The principal one is, it can break someone's privacy. In addition to this, youth can negatively influenced by famous personalities. This is because sometimes youngster are not enough mature to understand about good and bad habits and they can easily adapt bad habits by following their models. For instance, Ajay Devgan, a famous actor of TV, is advertising tobacco on television which influenced many teenagers to eat tobacco. Consequently, they get addicted to it and proved photographers wrong to follow famous people.

In conclusion, although taking photographs of renowned personalities by professional camera persons are good to be updated of fashion sense and bring positive change, they should take care of famous people's privacy and take cautionary step before follow them.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the influence of social media and the issue of privacy. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The argument regarding the negative influence of celebrities on youth is a bit disconnected from the core topic of paparazzi photography, as it focuses more on the celebrities' actions than the photographers' role. To reach a higher band, ensure that every supporting point directly links back to the impact of the photographers' actions rather than just the behavior of the celebrities themselves.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate the two viewpoints. Cohesive devices such as 'The primary one is', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as 'they' in the final sentence, which could be clearer. Overall, the progression of ideas is easy to follow, and the structure supports the argument well.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'renowned personalities' and 'cautionary step'. However, there are instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'click their photographs' (instead of 'take'), 'not enough mature' (instead of 'not mature enough'), and 'eat tobacco' (instead of 'use' or 'consume'). These errors do not impede communication but prevent the essay from reaching a higher band score for lexical range and precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('A group of individual believe', 'it may brings'), missing articles ('follow famous personality's fashion trend'), and awkward phrasing ('the thought of people that it is a good thing'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not cause significant difficulty for the reader. To improve, the student should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and pluralization.
