Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, there has been considerable debate whether it is good to follow famous celebrities. Some people believe that it is good to capture their routines in photographs which allows interested people to stay updated with their lives. While some people argue that, it is wrong to follow the famous person and exposed their routines. This essay will discuss both views before presenting my personal view. Personally, I believe that it is not good to capture their photographs.
On the one hand, many people believe that professional photographers should follow the famous celebrities, captured their life styles and keep updated their fans everyday. The main reason for this is that interested people are keen to follow their personal life style. Furthermore they are eager to copy their dressing style, day to day life activities, to know about their loved ones and travelling plans. For instance, I am big fan of Ronaldo who is one of the best players of football. That's why, I always try to keep myself updated with his each moves in his personal life though. Therefore, supporters of this view argue that it is good to be photographed them by professional photographers everywhere they go.
On the other hand, some fellows argue that it is wrong to follow celebrities and make their personal life to other people. One reason for this is that few interested individuals compare themselves and take wrong decisions to copy their life style. As a result, it impacts negatively to an individual who is not able to replicate. In my opinion, this perspective is more convincing because people should not follow each other as everyone is different.
In conclusion, although both views are valid arguments, I believe that photographers should not captured famous and well known people to stop people following them in their happy life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the negative impact of celebrity culture on individuals is mentioned but not fully explored or supported with concrete examples. The essay maintains a consistent position, but the depth of analysis is more characteristic of a Band 6.0, as some points are repetitive and lack the necessary elaboration to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, there is some mechanical use of these devices, and the flow between sentences is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing. Referencing is generally clear, but the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs could be smoother to improve the overall progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There is a reliance on basic terms like 'good', 'bad', and 'follow'. While the student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary such as 'celebrities' and 'professional photographers', there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'make their personal life to other people' and 'captured famous and well known people'. These errors do not impede communication but prevent the essay from reaching a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb forms and tense consistency, such as 'should follow... captured their life styles' and 'photographers should not captured'. Punctuation is generally functional, but the frequency of these grammatical slips is noticeable. While the meaning remains clear, the lack of control over complex structures and the persistent errors in basic grammar limit the score in this criterion.
