Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the comtemporary world, educated photographers are capturing the pictures of well-known individuals by following them everywhere. A growing number of people think that this is a positive thing as the community are interested in their personal life however, opposite group claim that photographers are mistaken to follow famous individuals. This essay intend to discuss both the views before explaining my perspective.
The most obivous reason of this argument is that more information about celebrity. These days, the majority of public are influenced by well-known artists due of that photographers are frequently following them to click the picture of them as well as to gain more details about their private lives such as their dressing sense, physical routines and diets. Therefore, educated photographers are capable to share those details with the photos to general people.
On the other hand, the plethora of individuals believe that photographers are following wrong the well-known people because they are targeting wrong people. Currently, numerous animal species are endangered and they are extinct due to that professional photographers should take the photos of those species, Thus, they can educate local community by share those pictures.
In my opinion, professional photographers must capture the pictures of the famous individuals because of the social media trends. The photographers are capable of earning the huge amount of money by posting pictures and videos of famous individuals on social media such as Instagram, Facebook, and Tiktok. As a result, it is extremely beneficial for public as well as photographers.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The essay addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, though the development is uneven. The first body paragraph lacks a clear focus, and the second body paragraph introduces an irrelevant argument about endangered animals, which does not directly address the prompt regarding famous people. The conclusion is incomplete, cutting off mid-sentence, which prevents a clear summary of the position. While the prompt is addressed, the ideas are not fully extended or supported with logical consistency, particularly the shift to environmental issues in the second paragraph. To improve, ensure all arguments directly relate to the topic and provide a complete, well-structured conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow of ideas is often disjointed. While some cohesive devices are used (e.g., 'On the other hand', 'To sum up'), they are sometimes used incorrectly or mechanically. The transition between the discussion of celebrities and the argument about endangered species is abrupt and lacks logical progression. Furthermore, the final paragraph is unfinished, which significantly impacts the overall coherence of the response. Improving the logical connection between sentences and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, unified theme would help elevate the score in this criterion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward word choices and unnatural collocations, such as 'educated photographers' (instead of 'professional' or 'paparazzi'), 'click the picture', and 'following wrong the well-known people'. Some terms are repeated, and the range of vocabulary is limited, preventing a more sophisticated discussion of the topic. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition and improve the natural flow of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include incorrect preposition usage ('due of that'), subject-verb agreement errors ('the community are', 'this essay intend'), and awkward phrasing ('the majority of public are influenced'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common grammatical slips will be beneficial.
