Student answer (Band 5.5)
Today I am going to discuss about how celebrities are followed by photographers and take the pictures without asking them which has a positive and negative impact on society as well as on celebrities. In this essay I will discuss both the view and will give my opinion.
Some people believe that if famous people captured by cameraman and post it on a social media it is beneficial because in today’s time everybody wants know the personal information about their role model. They argue that by doing this they can get idea about their personality and their behaviour towards the society and whether they are actually kind and honest ,or they are just acting. people will get to know what positive things they do to make others happy. Are they respectful or not?Do they have any bad habits which impact negatively on their followers?By observing this they can choose their role model.
On the other hand, others thinks that it is not the right way to follow someone without getting their permission and posted them on social platforms. They believe that if photographers will follow them everywhere then they won’t be getting personal life.Everything about their life will be published which makes them uncomfortable sometimes. They said that sometimes cameraman takes their pictures in an awkward angle which might be entertaining to people but very embarrassing for the person who is very famous in their own field. Sometimes it is not good for the society too because their fans wants to copy their style. They will make unrealistic demands on clothes, watches or cars which they cannot afford and I personally agree with this view.
To sum up,while both the sides have valid arguments I believe that nobody should follow anyone without their permission.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the public's interest in role models versus the invasion of privacy and the negative influence on consumerism. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'unrealistic demands' on fans is a strong point but could have been expanded with a more specific example. The conclusion is brief and lacks a summary of the main points discussed, which prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Overall, the position is clear and maintained throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the other hand' and 'To sum up', but the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical. There are instances where referencing is slightly unclear, such as the use of 'they' and 'them' without immediate, unambiguous antecedents. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two opposing views. To improve, the student should focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence connects smoothly to the next to create a more cohesive argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to convey their meaning clearly. There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'personal information', 'role model', and 'social platforms'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are occasional errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'captured by cameraman' (should be 'photographed by cameramen') and 'won't be getting personal life' (should be 'would not have a private life'). The student relies on basic phrasing, and more sophisticated or precise vocabulary would be needed to achieve a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('others thinks', 'fans wants') and article usage ('the pictures', 'a social media'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. While the student attempts complex sentences, these often contain errors that slightly impede the flow. To improve, the student should focus on basic grammatical accuracy, such as ensuring verbs agree with their subjects and using articles correctly, before attempting more complex structures.
