Student answer (Band 6.5)

In this generation popular individuals are photographed by professional photographers where ever they go. However, some believe it is a good thing many argue that it is a wrong thing to do. This essay will explain both the views and state my opinion with relevant examples.

To begin with, as many individuals suggest that celebrities being captured by visual content creators is a good thing for the public to stay updated on their lives. Because famous people influence fashion, entertainment and culture. When media and photographers upload pictures or videos they inform the society of what fashion choices, events and activities are being performed. For example, pictures of famous actor attending another actors wedding can show who all were present at the celebration, what fashion trend is being followed and in which tradition the wedding rituals were performed. Therefore, photographs can provide entertainment and information on what is demanded.

On the other hand, constantly following influencers can cause a serious interference in the privacy. Being famous does not mean they need to sacrifice their own life or personal rights. Constantly being captured by cameras may hinder their family time or private activities. For instance, an athletes who goes for a dinner with his friend who is a celebrity's sister many want want to reveal they are friends and if pictures and videos are published it can cause unnecessary stress or rumors . Consequently, there should be a sense of when and where should someone make videos or click picture, setting boundries is very important.

In my opinion, both public interest and privacy setting should be considered and acknowledge. Photographers should take consent before capturing someone so that they are aware and their privacy is not hindered. As long as they want to keep the audience entertained they should only do so when any famous person is spotted in big events or functions.

To conclude, being clicked by photographers has its own pros and cons, but knowing the difference when should they be clicked and when they should be given privacy is utmost important.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant and generally well-developed, such as the discussion on the influence of celebrities on culture and the counter-argument regarding privacy. However, the development of the personal opinion could be more nuanced; while you suggest consent, the essay could benefit from a more thorough exploration of how this might be practically implemented. The structure is logical, and the position is consistent throughout the essay, meeting the requirements for a Band 7 level of task response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate the different viewpoints. You use a range of cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'On the other hand', and 'Consequently' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as in the second body paragraph where the sentence structure becomes a bit convoluted. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow, which is characteristic of a Band 7 performance.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to discuss the topic with some precision. Phrases like 'visual content creators', 'hinder their family time', and 'unnecessary stress' show a good grasp of the subject matter. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'clicked' (which is informal) and 'acknowledge' (which should be 'acknowledged'). While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, there is room for more sophisticated collocations to reach a higher band. The errors present do not impede communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'an athletes who goes' (subject-verb agreement), 'many want want to reveal' (repetition/typo), and 'when and where should someone make' (word order in an indirect question). While these errors are noticeable, they do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentences are punctuated correctly. The current level reflects a solid Band 6, as the errors are frequent but not obstructive.
