Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the 21st century, due to advancement in technology and internet each and every famous personality get photographed by journalist and getting viral on internet. While this brings a positive growth to their fan following and connect with their followers however it affects their personal life negatively. In this essay, I will shed some light on both views and give my perspective on it.

We are living in the social media era, where everything get viral within seconds as social media paparazzies are covering news everywhere. The way journalists and photographers cover celebrities life in their coverage it ultimately help to famous people to gain more followers and get more footage on their social media which is significantly help them to get more brands and deals for promotions and collaborations. Moreover, due to coverage by photographers celebrities can reach to their fans and their fans can know what is going on with their stars, in this way both get connectivity via professional photographers.

On the other hand, while famous personalities get pictured every time they are out, some time that can affect their personal life. For instance, if a celebrity is dating someone and they do not want that news to get leak until they announce it officially to the public however if this news get leaked by photographer or journalist then it can affect celebrity's personal life. Furthermore, famous people's personal life events which are negative and they do not want to get those get public but somehow due to their reach it gets viral and affect their piece in life.

In conclusion, I believe that due to the coverage and extra footage by photographers and journalists celebrities get some fans following which can be beneficial however it can be negtively impact sometimes their personal life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, satisfying the prompt requirements. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the explanation of how photographers help celebrities gain 'brands and deals' is repetitive and lacks specific examples or deeper analysis. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on your points with more concrete examples or logical reasoning, ensuring that your personal opinion is clearly articulated and integrated throughout the essay rather than just mentioned in the introduction and conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Moreover', 'On the other hand', and 'Furthermore', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'In this way both get connectivity'. Additionally, some sentences are run-on or lack proper punctuation, which occasionally disrupts the flow of ideas. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, focused topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You rely on repetitive phrasing, such as 'get viral', 'get photographed', and 'get more followers'. There are also some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'affect their piece in life' (likely meaning 'peace of mind') and 'negtively impact'. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary and collocations related to the topic, such as 'intrusive media coverage', 'public scrutiny', or 'professional reputation', and pay closer attention to spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'each and every famous personality get photographed'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'it ultimately help to famous people'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage in complex sentences. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy and proofreading for subject-verb agreement will significantly improve your score.
