Student answer (Band 6.5)

The question of whether professional photographers should follow celebrities and share every moment of their lives or not has attracted a great deal of attention. In my opinion, it is okay to share some personal life moments into public for famous people, but over-sharing everything would invade their privacy.

To begin with, we notice paparazi's following celebrities like a shadow, where they are ready to capture every moment in their life and share them publicly. Due to this many popular figures just keep acting whenever they are out of their house. For instance, if an actor is known for his roles as a hero and he is out with his friend, when these camera person is ready to shoot his personal life events, he is forced to apply his skills to fit as an ideal role model all the time. In the end they are also a normal human being, where they can have ups and downs in their day to day living. Such mental pressure can make them take difficult decisions which can consequently change their overall life.

However, some well known persons do like getting photographed for every single moment to motivate other in their life. One example is John Abhraham, well known bollywood actor is famous for his physique and good body, beacuse of this he promotes maintaining discipline in health and eating proper diet, instead of promoting unhealthy food products. Another reason for these celebrities to stay in limelite is to share how our mindset can be caring and helping. For instance, Sonu Sood, also a popular actor started his own charity organisation during COVID-19 breakout.

In conclusion, I consider sharing life moments of famous people is important but it should be only done with their consent.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the mental pressure on celebrities and the potential for positive influence. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The discussion on the negative aspects is more detailed, while the positive side relies heavily on specific examples without fully exploring the broader societal implications. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is balanced in terms of depth and explanation. The conclusion is a bit brief and could have better summarised the main arguments presented in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organised with clear paragraphing. Each paragraph has a central theme, and the progression of ideas is generally easy to follow. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'However', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as the use of 'these' when referring back to previous ideas. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer to their antecedents would enhance the flow and coherence of the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task. You have used some topic-specific terms like 'privacy', 'role model', and 'charity organisation'. However, there are several spelling errors ('paparazi', 'limelite', 'beacuse') and some awkward collocations, such as 'share some personal life moments into public'. To improve, focus on mastering the spelling of common words and expanding your range of collocations to express ideas more precisely. Using more sophisticated synonyms for common words like 'famous' or 'good' would also help demonstrate a wider lexical range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical slips, such as 'camera person is ready' (should be plural or generic), 'motivate other' (should be 'others'), and 'they are also a normal human being' (subject-verb agreement). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some issues with comma usage and sentence boundaries. To achieve a higher band, you should aim for more error-free sentences and ensure that complex structures are used with greater accuracy and control.
