Student answer (Band 6.0)

Everybody in recent times seems to have different opinions where, when and how these photographers chase down these celebrities in area they are in.

Firstly,it is a good one when these photographers follow the celebrities because most of these do not want their private lives leaked aside from their occupation for which they are popoular for but we their fans are interested in who they are dating,if they have a hidden family away from the public eye or other secerts they are hiding from the public eye these photographers get those information and share it to the public and the public get to know what to do those types of information. For example ,in my homecountry Nigeria there is this celeebrity that had a mistress while he was pretending to the whole country that he was single and the country believe he was single while he hid his family away but it was the photographers that found out and sent the pictures out but you know what my country cancelled him,he was no longer a popular celebrity.

Secondly, these photographers cause harm to these celebrities by following them about and taking their pictures because these celebrities too are just human and they also want to live their lives and enjoy the memories with their loved ones.So for the photographers sneaking around trying to find nasty information about the famous ones and leak it and which can cause harm to the celebrity.

In conclusion,in my own world and opinion,i follow the opionion that it is wrong for these photographers to chase down these celebrities who are trying to live their lives and give us good content which is their occupation but what these photographers do to them it is very bad because they leak and sometimes lie about the information they get about the celebrity.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. The example provided regarding the Nigerian celebrity is relevant but lacks sufficient analysis to fully support the argument. The discussion on the negative aspects of photography is repetitive and could have been extended with more sophisticated reasoning. While all parts of the prompt are addressed, the depth of the arguments is limited, which prevents the response from reaching a higher band. To improve, ensure that each point is fully explained with clear logical steps rather than relying on simple assertions.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive. For instance, the transition 'Firstly' and 'Secondly' is used, but the internal flow within paragraphs is sometimes disjointed. Some sentences are run-on, such as the final sentence of the second paragraph, which makes the progression of ideas feel slightly cluttered. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the connection between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and better sentence-level cohesion to ensure a smoother flow of information.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. There are several spelling errors, such as 'popoular', 'secerts', 'celeebrity', and 'opionion'. Furthermore, the word choice is often basic and repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'these' and 'information'. While the meaning is clear, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary and the presence of spelling mistakes limit the score. To improve, focus on using more precise synonyms and ensuring accurate spelling of common terms related to the topic.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include missing articles, incorrect punctuation (e.g., missing spaces after commas), and subject-verb agreement errors, such as 'the country believe he was single'. Some sentences are overly long and lack proper grammatical structure, which occasionally impedes readability. While the writer attempts complex sentences, the control over these structures is inconsistent. Improving punctuation and proofreading for basic grammatical errors would significantly enhance the clarity and quality of the writing.
