Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 160 words. Consequently, the development of ideas is severely limited. While the essay attempts to address both views, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting examples or depth. The conclusion is entirely missing, as the text cuts off abruptly at 'in my oppinion'. Because the task is not fully addressed and the response is significantly under-length, it falls into the lower band range.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. There is no introduction, and the paragraphing is non-existent or confusingly placed. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as the repetitive use of 'because' and 'also'. The progression of ideas is disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the argument. The lack of a concluding paragraph further disrupts the logical flow of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is basic and often misused, such as 'world wiled life' instead of 'wildlife' and 'heroes and heroins' instead of 'celebrities'. There is a lack of variety, and the student relies on simple, repetitive phrasing. Word choice is frequently inaccurate, which occasionally impedes the reader's understanding of the intended meaning. To improve, the student needs to focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to media and privacy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('famous people wants'), article usage, and sentence structure. Punctuation is inconsistent, with many run-on sentences and missing capital letters at the start of sentences. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. These errors are pervasive and frequently cause difficulty for the reader, indicating a need for a stronger grasp of basic English syntax.
