Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which severely limits your ability to fully develop your ideas. You have introduced the topic and outlined both perspectives, but the essay is incomplete. You have not provided a counter-argument or a full discussion of the negative view regarding privacy, nor have you concluded your own opinion. Because the task is not fully addressed due to the length, the development of ideas is insufficient. To improve, you must ensure you provide a balanced discussion for both sides and a clear, supported conclusion, while meeting the minimum word count to allow for full exploration of the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay shows a logical attempt at structure, with an introduction and a body paragraph. You use cohesive devices such as 'While', 'One of the primary reasons', and 'Consequently' to link ideas. However, because the essay is incomplete, the overall progression is cut short. Paragraphing is present, but the lack of a second body paragraph and a conclusion makes the organization feel unfinished. To reach a higher band, ensure you have a clear paragraph for each viewpoint and a concluding paragraph that summarizes your position, using a wider variety of linking words to connect sentences and paragraphs more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proponents', 'scrutiny', and 'ethical standards'. There are some minor collocation issues, such as 'contribute to perform good deeds' (should be 'perform good deeds') and 'well-responsible citizens'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, it lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. Focus on using more natural collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing. Expanding your range of topic-specific vocabulary related to media, privacy, and celebrity culture will help improve your score in this area.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as the conditional 'If their favourite actors contribute... they would be likely to follow'. However, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'photographers violates' (subject-verb agreement) and 'religious commitment towards her life' (awkward phrasing). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but these persistent errors in basic grammar prevent the writing from being considered highly accurate. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed without errors. Proofreading for small slips will help you achieve a higher level of accuracy.
