Student answer (Band 6.5)

According to many individuals celebrities photos are captured by cameraperson, as public is interested in their daily routines. Whereas, others think photojournalist have to avoid taking pictures of famous people. In my opinion, capturing moments of any person without their consent is inaccurate.

To commence with, due to expand in social media it is easy nowadays for public to follow actors, models or anyone who is famous. Moreover, celebrities also want to stay in lime light as well as followed by paparazzi who click their picture and post online on various platforms. Individuals look at public figures as a role model and try to follow their style such as clothing, what product they use or what they eat. In other words, taking photos of prominent figures is also a source of income for professional photo takers.

On the other hand, many celebrities avoid interactions with camera persons as it is matter of their privacy. To elaborate, stars usually actors, singers also have their personal life which they do not want to share with public. Yet, photographers take pictures of them with families or friends and post it online. Furthermore, these type of things also put famous persons in danger as they receive threat calls from gangsters who ask them huge of money. For example, last year famous singer Sidhu Moosewala was killed by mafia as a photographer posted his picture and location online and criminals who demanded money from Moosewala killed him as he rejected to pay.

To conclude, individuals love their role models and want to see their activities. But, posting about any persons photos or videos on social media also put them in danger.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed all parts of the prompt by discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. Your position is consistent throughout the essay. The ideas are relevant, particularly the argument regarding privacy and safety. However, the development of the first viewpoint is slightly thin; while you mention the public's interest in celebrities, you could have expanded more on the professional nature of the photography industry or the economic benefits for the media. The example provided about the singer is specific and supports your argument well, though ensure that your examples remain focused on the general topic of celebrity photography rather than specific criminal cases to maintain a balanced academic tone.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand' to signal transitions between ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing could be more sophisticated. For instance, the transition between the discussion of public interest and the safety concerns in the final paragraph is a bit abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would help to elevate the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'consent', 'prominent figures', and 'interactions'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'due to expand in social media' (should be 'expansion') and 'huge of money' (should be 'a huge amount of money'). Some phrasing is slightly unnatural, such as 'photo takers' instead of 'photographers' or 'paparazzi'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing. Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic synonyms for common words will also be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'According to many individuals celebrities photos are captured' (missing punctuation/possessive), 'these type of things' (should be 'these types of things'), and 'as public is interested' (missing article). Additionally, there are issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage throughout the text. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and subject-verb agreement will help improve your score.
