Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, including both views and a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. The example regarding the 'Shah Rukh Khan' lookalike is slightly tangential to the core issue of paparazzi ethics. The personal opinion is clear, but the supporting arguments lack depth and rely on simplistic reasoning. To improve, you should aim to explore the implications of these views—such as the balance between public interest and the right to privacy—rather than focusing solely on personal preference. The conclusion is a bit repetitive, restating points already made without adding synthesis.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For instance, the transition 'The few people thinks that' is grammatically awkward and does not effectively signal a shift in perspective. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the final paragraph where 'The other feels that why photographers back of them' is syntactically broken, making the logical flow difficult to follow. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words (e.g., 'conversely', 'furthermore', 'consequently') would significantly enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. There is significant repetition of phrases like 'latest photos' and 'take their pictures'. Some word choices are unnatural, such as 'competent photographers' (professional is more standard) and 'keeping update of my childhood actors life'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and occasional collocation errors (e.g., 'ad makers offered him for advertisement shoot') limit the score. Expanding your vocabulary to include more topic-specific collocations related to media and privacy would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('Some individuals thinks', 'the photographers is doing'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing ('I agreed that, keeping update of my childhood actors life'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of quotation marks and commas. While the meaning is usually discernible, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and article usage is essential.
