Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, satisfying the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the argument regarding social media is mentioned in both the introduction and the first body paragraph without significant expansion. The conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the points made. To improve, you should aim to provide more nuanced examples and ensure that your personal opinion is clearly stated and integrated throughout the essay rather than just implied.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'In other words' and 'On the one hand' are used, but the transitions between sentences within paragraphs are sometimes abrupt. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'Few society of individuals of think', which makes the flow of ideas difficult to follow. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words will help create a smoother progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. There are several instances of awkward word choices and incorrect collocations, such as 'Having a good photographed' instead of 'Being photographed' and 'unusal picture' instead of 'intrusive' or 'candid' photographs. Spelling errors, such as 'lifestles', 'influncers', and 'amberssing', also occur frequently. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of precision and the high frequency of errors in word formation prevent the essay from reaching a higher band score. You should focus on learning word families and common collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are often marred by grammatical errors. There are frequent issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'renowned people is human' and 'photographers clicked pictures'. Additionally, there are persistent errors with articles and prepositions, such as 'go with skilled photographers' instead of 'being followed by'. While the errors do not completely impede communication, their high frequency and the lack of a variety of complex structures limit the score. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement is essential.
