Student answer (Band 6.0)

Taking pictures of well known celebrities by the professional photographers is pretty much common and seen everywhere. In my opinion, they should not follow them as they do have their personal life. Whereas they are free to take pictures on social events with ones consent.

Being a celebrity does not give consent to be pictured all the times especially behind the cameras or screens. As a human they do have right to live their lives privately. For instance, if you a person is waking out for a gym or a daily errands. They also need privacy and some space out of the eyes of the world. As a photographer you may take pictures but understanding that someone comfort zone should not be widely shown is a optimistic choice and respect to that person as well.

However taking about the fans, that they might be interested in knowing private life of their favorite celebrities. Which insists photographers to click candid of someone. Whereas understanding that everyone has the right to have a personal life. For example what if we relate this same scenario on ourselves that how would I feel at each step when i know my each step will be seen by millions of people. Then a person can actually act upon this.

In Conclusion, I would say that its okay to love your fans and to know more about them but it is equally important to put yourself in their shoes and understand how it feels to be on camera all the times.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the public's interest in celebrities and the right to privacy, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. For example, the point about 'fans' is introduced but not fully explored in terms of the media's role or the ethics of paparazzi. To improve, ensure each paragraph provides a more detailed explanation or a more specific, real-world example to support your claims. The position is consistent, but the overall task response would benefit from more sophisticated analysis.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward. For instance, starting a paragraph with 'However taking about the fans' is grammatically disjointed and lacks a smooth transition. Additionally, some sentences are fragmented, such as 'Whereas they are free to take pictures on social events with ones consent.' Improving the variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') and ensuring that sentences are fully connected would enhance the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on simple phrasing, such as 'pretty much common' and 'click candid of someone'. There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'optimistic choice' (which does not fit the context of respecting privacy) and 'social events with ones consent' (should be 'one's'). To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to media ethics, public figures, and privacy rights.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'if you a person is waking out'), missing articles, and incorrect punctuation. For example, 'As a human they do have right' should be 'As humans, they have the right'. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic sentence construction and ensuring that your complex sentences are grammatically sound.
