Student answer (Band 6.0)

There is ongoing debate on whether famous people should be photographed by professional photographers everywhere they go is a good thing or bad thing. This essay will discuss both views.

Some people believe that taking pictures of celebrities is a good thing because we get to know about their personal life. For example celebrities who works in films are mostly photographed to know about the upcoming movie details and about their daily routines as they want to follow in their daily life. People who want to be aspiring actors can benefit from this pictures or videos by inspiring from their role models.

On the other side, taking videos of the public figures is a wrong thing as public interest killing their personal life. For example, after our work we often want to spend some quality time with our family so we go out for a dinner or a movie night but when they go out they always filmed and ask professional questions in their personal time.As a result, they don't have any personal space with the family, they restrict themselves to home which can increase the chances of depression and stress.

In my opinion, taking pictures of the famous persons without their consent is a bad idea. Even though, they are famous we don't have any right to interfere in their personal space. If you want to know any professional details you can reach out to them by taking appointments to discuss about their upcoming updates.By following them everywhere there is a high risk of feeling insecure around the people and restrict themselves to a closed space which effects their both physical and mental health.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding aspiring actors benefiting from celebrity photos is a bit tenuous and lacks depth. The explanation of the negative impact on celebrities is more convincing, but the essay would benefit from more sophisticated reasoning and specific examples to reach a higher band. The position is consistent throughout, but the overall development remains at a basic level.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a basic attempt at using cohesive devices such as 'For example', 'On the other side', and 'As a result'. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel repetitive. The referencing is generally clear, but the logical progression within paragraphs could be smoother. The use of paragraphing is appropriate, and the overall structure supports the reader's understanding of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There is some repetition of basic terms like 'good thing', 'bad thing', and 'personal life'. While the student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary such as 'consent' and 'public figures', the overall lexical range is limited. There are no major spelling errors, but the word choice is often simplistic, which prevents the essay from demonstrating a more sophisticated command of the language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'celebrities who works' (subject-verb agreement), 'this pictures' (pluralization), and 'effects their both physical and mental health' (incorrect word choice/usage). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing after periods. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the frequency of these errors limits the score. More attention to subject-verb agreement and article usage is needed.
