Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 90 words. Because the essay is incomplete, it fails to address the prompt fully. The introduction sets up the discussion, but the body paragraphs are not developed, and the conclusion is entirely missing. Consequently, the position is not clearly established or supported. To improve, you must ensure you provide a full essay structure with clear arguments for both sides and a definitive personal opinion, ensuring you meet the minimum length requirement to allow for full development of your ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay shows a basic attempt at logical organization by introducing the topic and mentioning the two sides of the argument. However, because the text cuts off abruptly, there is no overall progression or paragraph structure to evaluate. The use of cohesive devices like 'On the other hand' and 'Considering the first point of view' is appropriate, but the lack of completion prevents the development of a coherent argument. To improve, focus on completing your thoughts and using a wider range of linking words to connect your ideas across paragraphs.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, such as 'professional photographers' and 'favourite personalities'. However, the range is limited, and there are some awkward phrasings, such as 'catch up their present life' and 'present in front of their fans'. These choices are slightly unnatural and lack the precision expected at higher bands. To improve, try to use more precise collocations and a broader range of vocabulary related to the topic of media and privacy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. There are grammatical errors, such as 'public can know' (missing the article 'the') and 'follow the famous personality' (should be plural 'personalities'). While the meaning is generally clear, the limited length makes it difficult to assess your ability to use a wide range of structures accurately. To improve, focus on article usage and subject-verb agreement, and aim to incorporate more complex sentence forms once you have mastered the basics.
