Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this contemporary era famous celebrities are photographed by professional photographers. Although they are publicly exposed or in private areas. Some segments of individual believes that this practice is good because there fans are interested in their daily activities. While other think that its totally wrong. Everyone has their right to privacy, and it should be respected by others.

On the one hand, in this modern age, many famous photographs follows high profile people, to grab good picture for their social media accounts, websites. It is a great medium to get earning from these platforms, because many individuals are interested to get updates about the daily life of their famous personality. For example, if someone is a fan of any actor, and follow page of that photographer, who capture picture of the same can stay updated with the daily life. As a result, the photographer can earns money from that page giving regular updated to their fan.

On the other hand, many believe this is not a good practice, and has to be stop. Every person, either famous celebrity or any random, has right to enjoy their private life. It is not right to follow anyone, who is spending their private time with their family or anything personal. For instance, if someone intensions are not good for that person, and get regular updates through photographer about their life. As a result, someone has to face serious circumstance due to this bad practice.

To conclude, I firmly believe that, everyone has the right to live their personal life. No one has to cross that line. If someone do not wants to share private life to other, it should be respected by photographs. Either public is interested or not.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the public's interest in celebrity lives versus the right to privacy. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the negative consequences of paparazzi is mentioned but not fully extended with concrete, real-world examples. The position is consistent throughout the essay, but the depth of analysis could be improved to reach a higher band by providing more nuanced reasoning rather than repeating the core points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'if someone intensions are not good'. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the link between the photographer and the fan's updates feels repetitive. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the flow between sentences could be smoother to achieve a more natural progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific language like 'high profile people' and 'private life'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'famous photographs' (referring to the people) and 'giving regular updated'. The range is somewhat limited, and the repetition of basic words like 'good' and 'bad' suggests a need for more varied and precise vocabulary to express complex ideas more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('photographer can earns money', 'someone do not wants') and article usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some sentence fragments and comma splices. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency of the writing. To improve, the student should focus on basic grammatical accuracy and proofreading for subject-verb agreement.
