Student answer (Band 6.0)
The celebrities like actors and sportsperson get photographed everywhere they go. There are lots of media agencies that take photographs of such famous people and sell their photos to earn money. This is their business and it is also beneficial for the celebrities because they get their share from the profit of the sale. People like Virat Kohli, Cristian Ronaldo, Tom Cruise and Shahrukh Khan are the big-shots of their respective fields and their pictures sell for millions. Some people promote this culture as they get to see their lives often. Others believe this is not good as it affects the privacy of these celebrities.
I think if done in moderation this does more good than harm. Earlier we could only see the actors or athletes on television and that was the only platform we could access them. But now, in the era of the social media we get to see them in realtime because of such photos. If these professional photographers were not around, we wouldn't be aware of the latest trends. These images help us to learn some things from their lifestyle like their workout regime, their fashion sense, their food taste and the people they meet. For example, in India people love Virat Kohli and they follow his instagram account to know where he travels, when is the next match, when is he getting married, who is he dating, etc.
However, I also agree that sometimes these photographers go beyond a limit when it comes to the privacy of the celebrities. For example, I saw in one of the articles that the paparazzi went to Virat Kohli's hotel room in his abscence and took the pictures of his room and his personal stuff without his consent. This type of behavior projects wrong impression to the general public.
In the end, I would like to say that taking pictures of the celebrities should be done in a civilised and ethical manner.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt: it discusses the benefits of celebrity photography, the concerns regarding privacy, and provides a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant and supported by examples, such as the reference to Virat Kohli. However, the development is somewhat uneven; the discussion on the 'benefits' is more detailed than the 'privacy' aspect, which could have been expanded further to reach a higher band. The position is consistent throughout the essay, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the writer's stance on the need for ethical boundaries.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion. Each paragraph has a central theme. Cohesive devices such as 'However', 'For example', and 'In the end' are used to guide the reader through the argument. While the progression is generally smooth, some transitions between sentences feel slightly mechanical. The use of referencing is mostly clear, though the connection between the first paragraph's general statement and the second paragraph's personal opinion could be more fluidly integrated to improve the overall flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task and allows for clear communication. The writer uses some topic-specific terms like 'paparazzi', 'media agencies', and 'ethical manner'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of slightly unnatural phrasing, such as 'big-shots of their respective fields' and 'access them' (instead of 'access information about them'). To achieve a higher score, the writer should incorporate more sophisticated collocations and a wider variety of academic vocabulary to express complex ideas more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'in his abscence' (spelling), 'projects wrong impression' (missing article), and 'the era of the social media' (unnecessary article). Subject-verb agreement and preposition usage are generally accurate, but the frequency of minor errors prevents the response from reaching a higher band. The punctuation is generally correct, though the sentence structure could be more varied to demonstrate greater control over complex grammar.
