Student answer (Band 6.0)
These days celebrities are photographed by skilled cameramen whereever they visit. Many people said that this a good thing because the followers are interested in their lives while some other people think that photographers are wrong to follow famous people. This passage discuss both the views with the opinion at the end.
Celebrities are the role model for the people, especially for the youth, they see them as their icon. They follow their exact speech, lifestyle and their do's and do not's. For instance, soccer star such as Lionel Messi have a huge fan following, his sportsmanship, diet and living habits inspire the youth which is a great for the teenagers as it motivates them to leave their sedentary lifestyle. It makes younger population fit, ambitious, optimistic which helps in greater nation building.
On the other hand, some artists flaunt diamonds, smoke and portray the intoxicants as their only life saver. This makes the youth more trapped and frustrated. Moreover, personal life is crucial thing for human so publicizing it make the life unease. In addition to it, sometimes popular personalities gets theft calls and demands ransom by which the smugglers purchase weapons and cause destruction.
In my opinion, it is more of the ethical thing for the photographer to publicize every picture or video of the famous people or not. They need to understand the long term impact on the society. Their soul purpose should be to publish the right thing, instead of anything to help in making the better world.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The first body paragraph focuses on the positive influence of celebrities, while the second paragraph shifts to negative impacts, including privacy and security concerns. While these points are relevant, the connection between the paparazzi's actions and the resulting security threats (e.g., 'theft calls') is not fully explained or logically linked to the prompt. The conclusion is brief and lacks a clear summary of the main arguments presented, which limits the overall depth of the response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. There is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally repetitive. For example, the transition 'In addition to it' is slightly awkward, and the referencing within paragraphs could be smoother. While the overall arrangement is coherent, the flow between sentences occasionally feels disjointed, particularly in the second body paragraph where the jump from 'intoxicants' to 'theft calls' lacks a strong cohesive link.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at using more specific vocabulary, such as 'sedentary lifestyle' and 'optimistic,' which are used correctly. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors, such as 'soul purpose' (should be 'sole purpose') and 'theft calls' (which is not a standard collocation). The range is sufficient to communicate the message, but it lacks the sophistication and precision required for a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'Many people said that this a good thing' (missing verb), 'This passage discuss' (subject-verb agreement), and 'popular personalities gets' (subject-verb agreement). Additionally, there are punctuation issues and minor errors in article usage. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. A greater focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement would improve the accuracy.
